ISP's

holy fucking christ… i’m agreeing with bobby311.

I’ve had Comcast since it was excite@home/ATTBI and I’ve NEVER had a real problem. Before that, I had VerizonDSL for two weeks. It never worked. They never sent anyone out to figure out why, even after I called several times and spent HOURS with the DUMBEST tech support I’ve ever seen. Every person I know who had Verizon (except one) now has Comcast. I think that’s the most telling sentence of all.

Only problem i’ve had w/ Comcast is in the spring there were major DNS problems… and it was happening for about 2 weeks…
i just think they are WAY overpriced…

but, just as i am doing… i’d rather pay the money than deal w/ dial-up…

i’ve got Verison DSL, and whats this Fios thing i been hearin about?

fiber to the premise… perhaps a google search would be in order

Fiber Optics. :yum:

Definetly going to look into that whenever they go residential!

I have adelphia cable at home. It has worked great and never had a problem with it. They just sent me a new modem in the mail and I plugged it in and it actually worked the first time, i never even had to call anyone about it. adelphia>*

I had dsl for a little bit about 4 years ago when it was 640/90 - slow as shit.

what are you talking about? 2 week DNS problem with an ISP?

i doubt it…

and fiber doesn’t really mean that it’s ‘faster’… i’d like to see that fios and exactly how it works… you can still limit fiber lines, shit i’m on a t right now and am limited on downloading… i can download faster at my house on a cable line.

t1=1.5mbps
cable is 4mbps

of course a cable line is faster than a t1 line

my work is slow as fuck compared to home. Too bad I am on my home computer about 1 hour every month. :frowning:

They say fios is 15mbps dwon and I forget the up speed. i’ll stick with my cable for now.

a ‘t1’ isn’t the only fiber line out

the people to talk about this kinda shit would be bobby311 and whitey.

Verizon is CLAIMING 15Mbps downstream for Fios, IIRC.

and?

i have armstrong, unfortunantly you cant get comcast out where i live, I hate armstrong…the internet isnt too bad tho

hmmmm…

we have 10mbps & 100mbps ports here @ my work…i have 2 100mphs here in my office.

if i’m not mistaken, that’s the speed of the ethernet, not the speed of the ISP.

:kekegay:

yeah i know…i didn’t have time to finish typing so i deleted the thread
