IT Guys: 32-bit vs 64-bit

3.4 is considered a pretty mild OC for that chip. There are people that run it a 4.0+ and claim that it is still stable. I’ll get mine up to there eventual, but right now I have memory problems.

I think you’ll be happy with the 64 bit OS. I’m able to run a (32 bit) game across 2 cores, and itunes and firefox on the other two, and have no slow downs in any of them. The game could be in some super intense combat scene with shit flying everywhere and the rest of the computer won’t skip a beat.

So to OC…you just change the multiplier in the BIOS? I’ve seen those settings, and I messed with em on my previous Mobo. I have a Gigabyte board which was designed for that type of stuff…

Its a lot more than just that :lol But that’s usually the first step.

Cool. I’ll give it a read. I never really got into that phase since I always just bought some of the best stuff available and it was more than enough for what I do.

Whoa. Yea, it’s a lot more than that. Check out hardforum.com but I’d be careful when making adjustments that can physically damage your gear.
