ok so i am making my own set up with 1000rr itb,for a b18
ive read many articles online for this and how to,so far im stuck on a few things and curious if anyone has done this yet in our area and if i can get any help
ok so first off,i understand how to make it thats simple,
on the b18 manifold i have cut behind where fuel rail bolts on(so i can keep my oem fuel rail/regulator/injectors)
but what is done for iacv, fitv?
i understand you can make a plate to bypass this so idle will set at 1000rpms but what can i do for for fitv?canister and vacuum line?obviously there is nowhere to bolt to itb set up for this.i dont want a tacky set up or it just laying under the tb’s.has anyone successfully done this or have pics of where to connect these or how to? im sorry if im not explainging this well enough, but its because i have not found an article that explains it well enough.honda tps will work from oem intake manifold to the tb set up.I am trying to avoid jumpy rpms or lack of air or choking problems. any help would be greatly appreciated.
here is the forum i have read and am following but he doesnt explain much for what i am asking…
(he also is using a gsxr 1000 itb set up-i chose honda so i can keep oem sensors)
Did this on my POS dodge avenger back in '99 before I went the turbo route. Cast an aluminum adapter from a mold I made to mount the throttles direlty to the lower runner section. different motor of course but the same principles follow. You will need an IAC source for idle, you will have to tap all four runners into a vac canister to get a proper MAP signal for the sensor.
You will likely have low vacuum readings as well. What are you doing for EMS? I don’t know the honda systems all too well and while there are ITB setups for them I’m going to certainly assume it will require tuning to run properly as with most cars that go this route from an original TB/plenum setup.
well i was going to just go ahead and try it see where it goes from there…but from what i have seen a few people are using the crome set up but when i am finished with it.im goign to try and start it see where it idles at and what not.give it a try and if it is terrible then i will obviously need to get it tuned.but i have read few other articles on honda tech where people did not even need a tune.but i will most likely want it tuned because the car and engine only have 60 thousand miles i bought it in florida, and id like to keep it clean and running correctly.
Ditch both of the valves. You really dont need them (mostly for high idle). You can make a block off plate for them and just bypass the coolant lines. It will still idle lower then 1000rpm. I am assuming your putting it into a OBD-1 integra, you will probably end up getting it tuned on Hondata if you go to Synapse.
