Updates: 75 shot nozzle (up to 36 from 32 thou’s) for n2o installed, 255 lph fuel pump installed, retarded timing 6 degrees and installed new heat range 7 plugs again. Made a few pulls…the ol’ butt dyno says “definitely more power than the 45 shot”. It nearly chirped the tires at 120 shifting into 5th (just a slight sliding sound on BFG DR’s).
I’m figuring tonight with slicks (…I’m not playing with the DR’s tonight, I’m out for blood on the 75 shot) I may need an axle with the extra go-juice if I get sidestep happy.
I like to think of my axles as “fuses” that prevent damage to other more expensive parts.
Ever since I learned how to launch the car without a hard shock to the drivetrain the axles have been holding up…so I have not upgraded axles.
The car is capable of running 150 MPH + near redline in 5th (and it’s scary as hell at that speed even with the new wheels and tires).
You probably mean 4th gear? I’ll just ask you to reprogram for higher RPM on the limiter in that case or shift 5th and hopefully not grind it back into 3rd
It says I can go 120 at top of 4th with at 8400 redline. I think I got enough.
What are you doing this afternoon? I have a few hours if you are around and want to up the limiter?
I didn’t get the 12.99 I was looking for, but got a 13.246@106.01 with the new setup. I think a bottle warmer would help with the 75 shot, I think the bottle got a little chilly and inconsistent.
Haven’t driven the car since the last runs but sleeved block is in from GE according to my sources. I think some 84mm pistons and some eagle rods are in my future. Head work to come soon.
