JackdUp's 1992 Honda Civic CX

that would be 92hp since it has multi point fuel injectiong, it was 70 in the EFs cuz they only had dual point, and ls motors are getting harder and harder to find and going up in price cuz so many people want them

nice!!!

um…no.

the 92-95 CX has well less than 92hp.

think 70hp.

i’m pretty sure it doesn’t even have 16 valves, and it uses coffee stirrers for connecting rods.

THe stock EG motor is a D15B8, 8 valve motor 73hp I beleive. If you can grab a D15B2(16valve motor), it was 9x HP. You can get the B2 out of EF’s, and just put your intake manifold on it. VERY easy to do. Only other thing you have to do is switch thermostat housings. I did it at first and made a HUGE difference.

sweet…look 4ward to seing the progress

swap Fred Flintstone in the engine bay!

Please get this GSR swap out of my garage!

 I’m just about ready to get a complete GSR swap. I’ll be in contact soon.

So i take it u got everythign squared away with that duesche bag then?

Motor obtained…VTEC fukin’ pwns j00!

The swap is a B18C1 which came from an ~100K mile '97 Integra GSR…I think I need:

  1. Timing belt replacement (it’s probably the original or 2nd belt, no sense risking it).
  2. a '97 Integra throttle cable for this project (didn’t come with it).
  3. ECU to send out for S300 or Neptune chippin’ (I think I want a P72, right?)
  4. OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness if I use the OBD1 ECU.
  5. Motor mounts. I think it’s the rear or passenger mount that I need to get it running (not sure at this moment), but I was thinking of putting in the Hasport right off the bat…
  6. Shifter bushings. Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings for the shifter mechanism.

Am I on the right track? Any other suggestions?

degresse that bitch

its overspray!
timing belt yes
neptune and hondata are 2 different things, neptune is similar to crome(witch i use) and uberdata
p28 will work fine
you dont need an obd2 jumper harness your car is obd1
motor mounts, yes avid or hasport would be ideal
look into getting the skunk shifter itself it comes with the bushings needed in the bottem of the linkage

and get it away from the toyota motor!!!

:slap:

More info I found (thanks honda-tech!): Bold is what the combo I’m running involves, I think. If anyone spots any inconsistencies, let me know…and thanks!

92-95 EG with 94-2000 GS-R B18C1

Transmission: These Engines come with Hydraulic clutch transmissions including Japanese or American market Y21, Y80, S80 , AND S4C. Japanese or American market S1, J1, A1, Y1 or YS1 cable clutch transmission with Hasport cable conversion kit part # M92-CC can be used.

Mounts: A combination of stock and integra mounts can be used if a hydraulic B- series tranny is used. on some 96 and up engines you may need to change the bracket under the timing belt and on the rear of the engine for ones of the appropriate year.

ECU: Use ecu that came with the Engine with proper wiring modifications. For those who do not wish to use OBDII ecu’s. For the B16a2 Si motor use the JDM P30 Ecu. Otherwise you may use a Chipped P28 with the Proper Programing.

Electrical Differences: B18C1 add air intake Bypass wiring. Cx (and Vx) need to conver to 4 wire o2 sensor. Non Vtec models need to be wired for Vtec solenoid and Vtec Pressure. All models Modify stock harness to fit. add knock sensor if you are not using a Chipped p28 ecu. Hasport Harness for B18C1(GSRmotor) part #EGDX-GSR

Axles: 90-93 integra axles, 94-up integra axles, 94-97 Del Sol Vtec axles, or 99-00 Civic Si Axles. Note the intermediate shaft seal in the left side of transmission is different for 90-93 Integra Axles. Depending on Axle transmission Combo, It may have to be changed. Hasport Part#: EGBAXCMP

Shift Linkage: 94-up Integra linkage for Civics. 94-97 Del Sol Vtec linkage for Del Sol

Upper Radiator Hose: For Engines using b16a or Type R Head use 94-97 Del Sol Vtec Hose. For Engines with GSR head use 94-up GSR hose

Lower Radiator Hose: 94 Delsol Vtec Be sure that it is a radiator hose for the b16a3 and not d16z6

Throttle Cable: For Engines with B16a head, use 94 Del Sol Vtec. For Engines with GSR (B18C1) head use 94 GSR. For Engines with Type R head Use 98 Type R

Clutch Hydraulics: Stock

Air Conditioning: 94-95 Del Sol Vtec A/C Bracket

Special Instructions: Using OBDII ECU involves wiring modifications. Generally if the ECU you choose does not use the same plugs as the stock ECU, an adapter harness will cut down on alot of potential problems.

Special Considerations: US motors are smog legal as long as the motor is from the same year or later. Japanese type R motors are very potent and wiring is relatively easy with ecu adapter harness. The B Series engine swaps into these year vehicles are by far the easiest. there are honda mounts available to bolt those engines directly in and the wiring is by far the simplest. The majority of people opt to put in a B18C, B18B, or 94-95 Del Sol B16a and those bolt in directly using Del Sol Vtec Mounts. the Del Sol mounts are the same as the 94-up Integra mounts with the exception of the A/C bracket.
