Seat of the pants, I’m guessing it’s a 14 second car as is. Probably about 13:1 weight to power ratio? Suspension-wise, it’s a little scary right now…it needs some suspension work and definitely some shifter bushings. It pulls pretty damn hard for a stock GSR in a full-interior hatch. The torque steer is there for sure at this point. Can’t wait to get the suspension sorted and boost this car.

Thanks again to 1st-Try Engineering, bgblockelcamino, naeh2na, 01DC04, fmfkid250, Black Integra, rickoner, and everyone else that helped get it to this stage.

tom and i drove it back…it needs some breaks

fico, who likes to be able to stop

I was stopping from 135+ with my stock CX brakes…

Does that chip fire up ok?

its def a low 14 car (i went 14.0@101 on junktires stock gsr)

now boost it and be scared!

I didn’t think the disc/drum setup stops all that badly. I mean, it takes longer than a set of 13" crossdrilled slotted SS rotors with Hawk HPS pads would…but it doesn’t seem to be that bad.

I am going to swap to the P28/chipped P72 tuned computer when it warms up (I guess this weekend) and test it. Right now I have a JDM P72 that seems to run it just fine, so no need to swap it out until it warms up a little…just in case. I hate getting stranded in the cold, but if it’s warm I’ll just pull out the folding chair and wait for the cavalry!

looking good. I actually didn’t mind my CX brakes unless in the twisties and heating them up. For a go/stop they were fine. I had the K-Sport Springs on my CX w/ KYB GR2 struts. If this is your daily driver so not get that setup as it was wayyy to ruff. I would invest in SWAY BARS before you do any other modifications. CX’s suspension are scary wobbly with out them. Thye don’t have sway bars stock… = the suck.

Thanks for the additional info. I was thinking about a narrow spring coilover setup. Right now I have Lenso’s with 22x8 slicks on them…it should clear stock suspension, but any upgrade is better than stock in the suspension department.

Also, are sway bars OK for FWD drag racing? I recall people with RWD disconnecting the front sway bar for drag racing.

I am useing a integra front end cross member with the support and sways…I have no idea if it helps or not

Updates…

I was running a P72 JDM stock ECU. Had the knock sensor and O2 fire off a check engine light…so I spoke with some people and the consensus was “turn off the knock sensor”. My chipped P28 that I am now running the with a USDM P72 basemap from fmfkid250 has the knock sensor turned off and it is running like a champ again, no codes.

It is almost racing season again, so I’ll throw down some runs N/A and get a feel for the car on 22x8 slicks. After that, I’ll be boosting it.

I think this is the compressor map for my turbo (is this the right map for my GT35?)

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/images/catalog/Turbochargers/gt35_images/GT3582R_714568_2_comp_e.gif

Calculating all the numbers: at a pressure ratio of 3.0 and airflow of 44 lb/min @ 7200 RPM puts this setup around 440 crank HP at 27 lbs boost. A sleeved 2.0 GSR block, forged internals might be able to handle that?

Also, approximately what octane are we looking at for this amount of boost…is the rough calculation about 87 + (1 octane unit per lb boost)? That would put it at 115 octane if the rough calculation was correct.

your calculation sucks @ 27psi i am geussing for around 600whp with 3" ic pipeing…

glad to hear the p28 is working out good!

Hrumph…the turbo in these pictures may not have the compressor map pictured above.

 mmmmmm that is one pretty hairdryer.

Your calculations are definately conservative for that turbine though. I don’t know about hitting 600, but mid 500’s w/ low 20 lbs is doable. Lemme find the graph for a similar b18c1 setup and see what his specs were…

600 no prob

looking good man

Thanks! More updates…second swap obtained, thanks allmtrhonda87! This swap will be torn down and inspected, then sent to Hybrid for sleeves & shortblock assembly. Thanks Eric for talking to me today about all the Honda stuff.

My Jeep had 5.8 liters in it today…4.0 in the front and 1.8 in the back
