it has hks branded in cast all over it, and i crfossed the part number, its listed on hks’s website under their sr20det section as just s15 6 speed transmission - retail price - too much lol

as far as i know, hks doesnt produce their own trannies from scratch
im pretty sure they come from hollinger… i dont know if hollinger makes it to hks’ spec or if hks modify it themselves or whatever…
straight cut gears means the teeth engage straight on immediately, they dont slide together progressively like helical gears (which is what all modern car trannies use)
straight cut gears introduce less loss and also keep the load in one direction, helping extend bearing life
when you hear that loud ass whine in a racing car (that a lot of noobs claim to be a supercharger) it’s the sound of straight cut gears
