Jeep issue need some input

So my wifes 2002 Jeep Gran Cherokee

Recently started having an issue with stalling out, and sputtering. It’s something thats sparatic. My first thoughts are a fuel issue, maybe the pump’s going bad or there’s some shit in the tank.

I cannot get it to happen when I drive it, I took it for multiple drives 40+ minutes long and have never gotten it to buck, stall, sputter, putter or anything so I can’t tell you EXACTLY whats going on. I asked my wife to explain it as best as she could.

Sitting at a stop light for to long, she says the RPM’s start to drop and it will stall. A couple times when she was driving the car would “jerk” a bit… and today as she was driving the RPM’s dropped really low the gas pedal was unresponsive and after she coasted for a minute it decided it wanted to drive again…

I really think its fuel, but before I go dropping the tank or something I want some thoughts

The thing thats pissing me off the most is that it hasnt happened when I drive it… Ive driven it every which way i can think of to try and get it to d osomething… even just drove it to the store and back etc and I just can’t get the fucking thing to do it.

I’m thinking throttle body. Is it electric or cable driven?

My fathers jeep does this. But it doesn’t happen very often. One spot we can always get it to do it is at the light on osbourne at albany shaker. Has been doing this for years and can’t seem to find the problem. It seems to only do it at a certain angle the jeep is tilted. It happens so little that all he does is shift it to neutral and let it sit for a few seconds.

Crank position sensor !

x2

Never would have thought of that… I figured that would be something more abrut

Meatpaws when the fuck are you free these days I really need to come up and play with your tits… its been awhile

Had one similar problem. Throttle position sensor.

It’s a jeep.
