I have a 2000 Cherokee, 4.0 auto. If I try and start it, it will not start unless I hold down the gas pedal. As soon as I let go of it it just dies. I left it sit for about 2 months, it was perfectly fine before now. Before I go trying anything and everything, any common issues to look for?
Last problem i had with my jeep was the crank position sensor, pain in the ass to change, see if there any codes even though the engine light might not be on then let us know.
possible the pressure regulator is bad and just returning a ton of fuel back into the tank, seen it a few times. Can be verified with a fuel pressure gauge. Sitting for so long it’s possible some mice got to some wires under there also. As stated any codes?
Thanks for the info. This is the first OBD2 vehicle I’ve ever had, so I’ve never has to check for codes before. I’ll take a better look this week
my ex had the same problem with hers, they replaced everything, turns out it was the computer
