Jesse's '94 M-Edition Miata. LS1 swap coming soon.

Some exhaust pics. I need a new welder. The Craftsman flux core Sears delight has served it’s purpose so well, but it’s getting really inconsistent. When I get some extra money, I’m going to pick up something nice.

My Snap-On auto-dim mask is worth more than my welder

As for the blue paint, well, there’s a store locally that has 2 full aisles of name brand paint for a buck a can, and I couldn’t find any high-temp black, so high-temp blue will have to do. It’s just so everything doesn’t rust/corrode.

Also, the piping underneath the subframe is 2.5", to give an idea of what kind of ground clearance I’m working with. I probably have 3.25-3.5" total of clearance under the subframe. I haven’t measured the rear diff, but it’s low, too.

Is your exhaust just dumping out behind that part of the subframe?

Yea. It’d be so hard on clearance to run it out the back. I was going to do sidepipes, but it doesn’t really matter at this point. The OEM muffler hangs out the rear.

“It’s all stock, sir!”

Sick. Nice to see it all buttoned up.

sweet

I was wondering if you were going to keep that. I saw that in one of the earlier pictures. That is awesome, it will be the ultimate sleeper until the other car hears the engine when you hit the gas. That is one miata that is far from a chick car. Congrats!

There was a sobriety checkpoint in White Oak about two weeks ago.

Cop gave me a “verbal warning” for the exhaust. I don’t think he really cared, but had to say something because other cops were there.

It was funny though. He smiled and said “A muffler is supposed to muffle, not amplify the noise.” I wanted to say "Oh, don’t worry, officer. I don’t have any  "

haha

Jesse, i got ur OBD port sitting here waiting for pick up

the car is sick. that was me who nodded in the saturn in white oak. i was out getting lunch for work and i saw a green miata with a luggage rack and knew it was you. definate sleeper!

Ha, I was wondering who that was. I gave it a quick rev because my horn sounds like a dying zebra.

Thanks!

Saw your Miata at Dyno Day. Sick stuff and great work, man.

Welp,

here’s the winter plans if she doesn’t sell.

  1. Take motor out, go over wiring once more. Also, a tranny bolt just barely, barely nips this part of the body that I need to cut out just a hair more. Doesn’t hurt anything, but thumps when you put the car in gear and let the clutch out semi-quick (the motor shifts)
  2. New subframe is coming in January with more ground clearance
  3. “Finish” the exhaust (H pipe, mufflers, try to run it out back
  4. Possible LS6 intake manifold
  5. Possible re-route of the intake
  6. Get this stupid alarm to Chaz so he can program it and I can having a working alarm
  7. Get nitrous on
  8. Wheels and probably 225/50 BFG DR’s in place of the nittos
  9. Some sort of tuning program
  10. A 10-sec slip in Spring

And the number one thing I’m going to get (hopefully) : a job

What you selling it for…you barely even enjoyed it.

The job will help with the other 10 items.

I had another thread on here that I deleted that explained it.

As for the job, yea, it’ll help for sure  Regardless, the list will be done for spring :bigok:

so I take it your keeping the car?

if so congrats and good luck with the project again :bigthumb:

i believe he was having issues finding an insurance company to give him coverage.

ok… how are you doing all this without a job?

if you dont mind me asking

I’m baller as fuck :embarassd

And yes, I have paid for everything myself.
