He was comparing with stock rim&rubber to establish a baseline tire diameter (the 24.21 used for all the calculations), you should be striving to keep this number the same regardless of what wheel/tire combo you’re running. So regardless if they’re running 195s or 305s, the 24.21 should still apply.
True enough, but not to many poeple swapping rims to 17-18’s do not have the same overall size and most often are larger. This still does not do much but but prove my statement made earlier.

who cares what size tire, if you would like to go use the calculator and post graphs for 30 different wheel and tire combos then you can go ahead and do it…
thats as smart as saying, if someone has 2g to spend on a lsd then they probobally have a HKS tranny or a OS Gliken gear set.
and if you still want to play the non stock wheel and tire size game, most people who run slicks do not run a stock tire size either…now you are forced to shift to 5th gear in drag and easily run out of gearing before the end.
in the mean time we are compairing this to a stock tire size which is the proper thing to do.
LOL?
Still, my first question was what/who was the owned for?
Buy the way, why would you go out of your way to post something on a post the over 2-weeks old. There really was no need. The original post was for the sale of an lsd. If you don’t have something to help with the sale why put up anything? If it was to help then what was with the OWNED?
My first statement was that the rpm at crusining highway speeds we change by about 600-700 rpm. If you wanted to go more then 220 kph then this might not be for you, but if wanted to be able to accelerated faster then the other guys to 220 that this would work great.
Your post only proves my point!!!
Using stock tire size would be good for a base line, but seeing as no one will be using them in this setup up does not make any sence.
I am sure we all like the post you made, and it is a great reference.

jon, i had the same gear ratio on my ca… and i still got good gas mileage driving 140. its not that bad guys.
i think you should re look at what you just posted.
i posted a graph that proved your point. helped with your friends sale.
and then you come in here and attack my save for your friend with points that are rediculious and have absolutly 0 bearing on the subject and further ruin your friends post.
and still, i still dont think you can quite grasp the concept of why a stock tire size is used either…ill leave that one to your imagination.
I’m pretty sure the CA tranny has the same gears if not very close to the same as the SR and KA, it’s the final drive that’s shorter in CA chassis cars. Which is why your car was a bag of ass when running the CA.
So you wouldn’t of had the same ratios…
and what no one has mentioned so far, with a 4.88 final drive, you could use larger rear tires by the same percentage that the speedo pinion/sensor thing is off
so if you have a 200sx with a 4.11 you calc the % difference going to 4.88 then you can upsize the tires/wheels by the same amount, so you could run like 255x50/18 or something and retain the stock tach/speedo functioning
But then why pay $2250 for a used LSD ??
and who wants a disgusting 4x4 car with hidious tires that belong on a 3rd gen camaro?
Nice DTS, thanks for posting this. This solidifies all of my statements and shows how much MRWmotorsports DOESN’T know. Thanks MRW, for proving what a bunch of clowns you are
Here is a summary of the thread:
actually its over 50kmph…
I think your calibrated rally odo needs to get re-calibrated.
He’s not very wrong  He knows exactly what he’s talking about having driver HIS car with a 4.625 for 6 months, and raced with one for years. A 4.88 would only make things worse. 1st gear would be almost useless. Barely noticeable my ass…
Before you make ridiculous claims about something you are selling, make sure you have a clue what you are talking about.

Who has a clue about what they’re talking about NOW… Martin?
I guessed almost accurately… its about 230kmph
staggered … 17 & 18 with similar height rubber
staggered … 17 & 18 with similar height rubber[/quote]
I’ve thought this would be badass for quite some time now… Except I JUST bought my wheels and cant afford to buy more already
I’m poor, I can’t even afford tires for my 16x8’s hehe
