Well, not a good sign for my console I unhooked the day the banwave started. Put it’s serial number in for a warranty check on xbox.com and got the dreaded 54420 error. Looks like it’s been flagged for a ban and it’s just a matter of the next time it signs in to live.
Guess I’ll be taking my liteon drive 360 apart to see which version it is. I’m guessing it’s the first liteon that requires the spear.
Mine is 54420’ed, but from what I hear there are cases where it just flags you to get the spin-up drive check next time you log in. People have had success flashing to stock and plugging it into the internet…
see, all that preventative unhooking did squat for you, should of left it plugged in and had some fun before u got banned
The thread over at xboxscene talimg about doing just that is now closed because everyone still ended up banned.
My guess is MS has been flagging since the day the last dash update went out but waiting to start the bans so they could catch as many as possible. Don’t ban them all at once though so the support phone doesn’t get crushed.
At this point I’m just never going to put that console on the network so it doesn’t lose the other features they take away.

what features do they take away? I’m not gonna pay for live anymore anyway probably since I hardly use my xbox, but playing single player stuff and COOP games is mostly what I did with it anyway, other than COD.
