Sri Lanka’s defence secretary was ambushed while riding in his protection package e38 7 series by a suicide bomber. He walked away unharmed, and it looks like the car did fairly well too!

i watched a TV show on those cars. they showed the BMW’s, Mercs, and Bentleys that were all beefed up. those things get expensive quick!

depending on the level of protection, pistol round protection all around can be had for like 10k. Rifle round/assualt rifle small explosives, 20k. The stuff that guy had was probably 35-40k not counting the engine mods to make it still move. and then theres the pope level which is upwards of 100k.
numbers are from memory watching a modern marvels about it.
So how’s the bomber doing?
It was probably a bomber and not gunmen…just used claymore style ball bearing projectiles with some c4 and a limb or 2 for good measure mmm mmmm good!

The owner of the shop that fixed my previous car was telling me about a “PP” BMW he had to repair once. Don’t know all the details of the car or how it got to the US, but it had been t-boned and most of the bulletproof glass was broke. They had to order the glass from Germany and when it came in like 2 months later it was on this pallet that was something ridiculious in size.
While working on it they also saw the mounts for the flame throwers that mount in the rockers. Apparently you can engulf your entire car in flames so if the bad men try to carjack you, you can BBQ their asses!
I’ve seen that, it’s a popular, uh, mod in South Africa. I can’t picture doing that in America, the lawyers would roast you next :lol:
