ka egr valve location

where is the egr valve located again on the ka24? under the intake runners iirc? whats the easist way to remove it?

i dont have the car in front of me so i cantrun outside and look.

pics would be greatly appreciated.

it needs to be removed and cleaned - whats the best way to clean them? (for e-test - ppm’s need to come down about 100)

thanks guys

ive read that the pipe running back to the ex manifold is hard to remove

anyone done this recently?

I’m in the process of removing a similar pipe. The IAV/EGR pipe connecting from that unit on the strut tower to the 2-1 downpipe. It’s hard because the edge for the wrench is very slim, and its rotted to shit lol.

I can’t imagine the one on the 4-2 manifold being any better. But yes it runs from the exhaust manifold to somewhere behind the intake mani. Try and just heat it. WD it. w/e. And give it a go with a wrench.

Best of luck, I know I’ll be needing it.

hhayeah

i readits super tough to get out

buddy of mine is in the process of doing it right now

yeah i had a hard time with it aswell…i ended up takin a grinder to it

See I totally would. But I plan on plugging that pipe properly with an oem nissan part. If you search it up like ‘240sx IAV plug’ you’ll find the plug should be on nico or something.

But this is of no concern to you matty since you are clearly trying to pass a legit e-test. Best of luck man.

ist for my buddys car to get past the e-test

done and done by the way

he pulled it out, cleaned out the egr, and brought the ppm’s down 100 points allowing it to pass.

thanks guys, especially to jack (s1495)

Good to hear he got it to pass! Are they happy with it so far?

hey joe

yeah they are happy with it

i inspected it the other day for em, nice and clean - cept for the two floor spots - but i told jay i can weld that up in the future.

car runs well - for an s14, it was a good deal. the wheels have got to go tho haha

what are you going to be driving next?

Your lucky to have got that out, I spent probably close to a hole day trying to get mine out, tried everything. oxy-acytalyn, monkey wrench, vise grips, nut buster, nothing worked. ended up cutting it and putting one of those plugs osad mentioned in the header.

Congrats on passing.

Glad they like it! I hope they found how to use the washer nozzles. I forgot to show them. I feel it was worth what they paid. And I now have a 2000 Subaru impreza coupe - Which will probably get a V. 4 STI swap sometime over the next few months.

im sure it will be figured out

what the washer resevoir from?

princess auto special.

i failed to take mine out while swapping the ka, even w/ torch
ended up cutting it off, plugged both side, got a aftermarket 3-way cat and passed e-test on a 1 week new engine…
