Keyless Entry for 95 civic

hoping i can get some insight on this.

I bought a new key fob for my 95 civic EX since i’m sure the originals are LONG gone anyway. and i’ve been doing some research on programming the new key fob. Now assuming of course the programming sequence is the same for my car as it is for a 96-up civic, i’ve run into this.

The valet button to begin the programming sequence is on the factory radio, which i do not have. However i’m sure there is a wire labeled “remote” or something similar in the back that is disconnected. If i pull the CD player out (alpine) and connect the wire. will i be able to program using one of the buttons?

I’m hoping someone has some info on this cuz otherwise i’m lost haha.

Here are the step by step instructions for programming a 96-up

I would try and get a hold of Chaz at First Bass… he will defiantly be able to help you and if not, point you in the right direction.

fail

the radio is completely different 96-up than it is from 92-95. I don’t know how factory keyless would have worked for a 95, but don’t think they had it.

the keyless radio/dome light and some other miscellanous things worked through the radio, which is why when they are removed from a 96-00 civic they are either stuffed back into the dash behind the new radio or a jumper cable to keep power to the right places.

That “remote” wire coming off of your Alpine has a completely different meaning, and has nothing to do with keyless entry.

if you really want keyless go see Chaz about an alarm, or keyless entry…

they did have keyless entry, same as the 94 and 95 GSRs however in the civic it was an optional feature. I never paid much attention to what the “remote” wire was from the cd player as i really never could give a **** less about audio equipment, as long as it played chiodos and atreyu i was good to go. At any rate, the civics equipped with keyless entry had an LED light on the dash, mine has one so at one point or another had keyless entry. It looks factory, so i do not believe it had an aftermarket alarm, also there are no other odd wires that don’t seem to belong. Thanks though guys i’ll probably give first bass a call in the morning.
