gm keyless entry PLEASE HELP

Well my sister has decided to go and loose the key and remote to my grandmas 06 Malibu…I’m being blamed for it any information on replacing the fab thing and key…i see that they have them on eBay for about 10 dollars can someone help with the programing?

thanks John

ask bdr5oh. I guess programming it involves a jumper and the scan port under the dash.

I worked at gm dealers, malibu needs to be programmed with the TECHII scan tool. If there is another way to hack it…I dont know it.

  1. Sit in the driver’s seat
  2. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder
  3. Close all the doors
  4. Press and hold unlock on the door lock switch (on the door)
  5. While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, insert and remove the ignition key twice. DO NOT ROTATE THE KEY… JUST SLIDE IT IN AND BACK OUT.
  6. Insert the ignition key the third time, leaving the key in the ignition cylinder. DO NOT TURN KEY
  7. Release the door lock switch. You will hear 3 chimes indicating the transmitter
    programming is active.
  8. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the keyless entry remote at the same time (one remote) for 12 seconds. You will hear two chimes. This indicates the
    transmitter has been programmed.
  9. Repeat step 8 for all additional transmitters to be programmed
  10. Exit programming by removing the key from the ignition cylinder

This worked on my 97, dunno if its different for newer sorry.

:word:

you need to take it to a stealership so they can hook up the techII scanner and driver around in a circle until they hit GM’s satellite

only works on:
silverados
yukons
tahoes
sierras
suburbans

does anybody know what the procedure is for a 2003 pontiac sunfire?

The misses just bought one loaded with all the bells and whistles, and the nimwit previous owner lost the key fob…

Worked on my buick and my mothers :gotme:

Just trying to help, but it sounds like youve got more info than I do.

good luck man

The newer 00+ models mostly need to use the TechII to get them to work. Some of the lower end, or models who did not change body styles until after may still be able to.

FYI, I have a bunch of used remotes here for GMs. If you have the numbers off the back of an original, or off the Keyless receiver, I can check what I have and let you know if I find a match.

only works on non databus2 cars

btw its like 40 bucks to get programmed at paddock
