a bunch of dudes in my company cannot drive manual transmission… and this is an automotive company.

Not quite as bad, but when I worked for West Herr at least half the lot guys couldn’t. There were a fair amount of trucks, Foci, Mustangs, and other trade-ins that were manual so they wasted a lot of time walking all the way out to the car and realizing they couldn’t drive it. At least that meant that I got to drive them. We taught one guy on some beater trade-ins, but most of them had no interest in learning.
That’s almost the only reason why I drive/buy manuals for street cars. :gotme:

fuck, I’m getting old. I would actually prefer an automatic nowadays. Been driving an 07 Civic manual the past couple days, I liked the few days prior when I was driving an automatic Allroad
Way back in the day, I was dropping a car off to get a CD player put in it. I give the fggt the keys, and tell him I’ll be back in an hour with the GF. He gets in the car and says “Oh, I can’t drive stick.” “Can you pull it in?” Just to show him how much of a fggt he was, I said “Why don’t you pull it in for him” to my GF, who’s about 5" tall in heels. The look of dejection on the kids face was EPIC.
I had another kid come for a car I was selling. But the fggt mistook an auto Jetta I had already sold with a 5spd Jetta I had just listed. So the fggt and his fggt father show up and he goes up to the car, and like a emo fggt bitch says “Dad, I can’t drive stick.” He fucking whined it like a 13 year bitch. So father fggt says “My son can’t drive stick.” So, I knew that any longer the fggt clan stayed there was going to be a waste of my time so I said “You mean to tell me that if a chick said I’ll fuck your brains out in a car if you can drive me somewhere, you couldn’t?” He looked at me like a fggt and uttered the most limp wristed emo sucking ass fggt “No” I’ve ever heard in my life. When the fggts left, he shook my hand with what felt like a limp overcooked eel, but not as firm. FGGT

but on the flip side, i work in service and i want to bash brains in when people who drive manual come in and then warn me that it’s manual. “oh hunny, you might wanna grab someone else, it’s a manual.” FUUUUUUUUUUU. Then i tell them that there are 3 dudes in the service department that can’t drive manual, but I can. lolz.
lol, I love the use of “fggt” in every sentence. And put up with this as well with my Mazda 6 when I was selling it. “oh, its standard” Nice… you can see the shifter and read. Maybe you should have done that before I wasted my time walking to the end of my driveway to show you a car you cant drive.
On a side note, is a good way to never have your car stolen.
This is so true. I would say about 90% of my non car friends can’t drive manual.
I did convert two of them though and that’s all they drive now. One has a manual cobalt and the other has a fairly newish SI sedan.
On top of being fun, I think it makes the car a hell of a lot easier to drive in the winter and living in an area where you could get plowed in, the clutch helps you rock it si its super easy to get out of snow.

I can’t find it but there was a picture of two asian kids shopping with their mom and both were in the cart reading books and there was an american kid using the cart as a chair while watching Cars on a TV. Kinda shows what happened to the innovation in this country.
