Still Ugly.
If you don’t give a shit about the topic, dont fucking post in it. How hard is this?
i’ve got to say, the guy on the right looks like srs bsns
Kind of cool to see the pre-production version.
WIKI:
It’s rumored that the SHO V6 was actually capable of revving up to about 8,500 RPMs, but Ford’s accessory systems couldn’t handle it, so the redline was dialed back to 7,200 so the engine didn’t destroy the rest of the car
awesome.
/\ haha that is kind of cool. Note to self: Do not install a Ford alternator in an S2000.
rumored is the wrong word. it does in fact rev that far, and even boyond.
there was a guy on shoforum that was doing 9k+ nitrous pulls. he eventually fried the pistons because he didnt bother to tune the system, but the engine was spent before he started anyways, he just wanted to finish it off in a blaze of glory
It’s no Honda Accord…
Meh.
Kinda cool but I wouldn’t get a boner over that pile.
Everytime I ride in one I always want to get one again.
Then it breaks and I’m reminded why I don’t. It had it’s era.
thats cool to see the prototype.
i used to have a 91 maroon SHO. i sold it in 2003 to pat miller (rendyx was his username at the time) and he sold it to someone else later.
like bacon, i got tired of the sho specific bits breaking. not the motor. it was a jewel, it was always some motor mount or trans or clutch or something else annoying.
it was partly my fault for hammering the car everywhere. the motor sounded so good screaming i couldnt resist.
Brian
great motor, bad car…
yea, the ford stuff was / is crap, but the engine itself takes a beating as long as you follow a few rules:
if you take the crank pulley off, put it back on tight
yellow oil light: bad, but no harm done if you take care of it now
red oil light: kick yourself for not paying attention to the yellow one
replace your rod bearings
i think thats all the major ones, lol
So how long till we get mine runnin?
god those things are the fucking WORST.
