LCD tv gurus help!

im looking at 3 32" lcd tvs i was wondering what is th best choice of the three

olevia 232v

memorex mlt3221

vizio vx32lhdtv10a

those are pretty much in order in my opinion any tech info or input in general would be swell. i like the olevias styling and such and i like the memorex because its a bit cheaper the vizio i didnt relly get too much of a chance to look into but IDK. HELP!

don’t know much about the first 2, but i have a 46" vizio and it isnt too shabby. not as good as my samsung (obviously), but unless they are enxt to eachother, you will like the picture of the vizio.

Yeah I don’t know much about those either. But based off of what I have heard and given those choices, I would go with the Vizio.

IMHO, Don’t go with Olevia. My roommate has one, and from every angle including straight on it looks washed out. It isn’t the color, its like the old lcd monitors, the coating on the front is whitish not clear.

I’d say go to a store and take a look at models close to those 3, it will at least give you a measure of build quality to see it in person.

EDIT: found this on the olevia

“Update: Seems a large number of people are having an issue with the HDMI port and XBOX 360’s (including Elites). It appears to be an incompatibility with both compenents that neither manufacturer (Olevia or Microsoft) have been able to work out. There’s an interesting thread on this topic on the Team XBOX forum, the suggestion is to just use the Component option to run the XBOX as that seems to work fine. Not the right answer I’m sure but honestly, if your buying a TV to get the most out of the XBOX video display this TV is probably below your standards anyway and unless your one that insists on counting the individual pixels, I doubt most people will notice the difference.”

i was at sears checkin em out but didnt see the vizio till i was walking out. ill have to take a better look. thanks!

what do you want to do with it? Watch movies? Games? TV Shows? All 3?

make sure that whatever store you go to that you spend some time adjusting the settings… otherwise you aren’t comparing apples to bananananas.

hahaha

If those 3 were my only three options I would go with none of them, they are all garbage.
But in respect to your question the Vizio is the best of the 3. If you can call it that.

From the expeience we have with those three I would have to agree that if you can get something like Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic or even Samsung would be a better bet. But Vizio would probably be the best one out of those three if you had to choose one of them.

i watch tv about 2 times a week. id use it as a larger screen for my laptop, some gaming (ps2 and original xbox) and the occasional movie.

i just picked up a 37" philips its great… caught it on sale for like $950

if ur going to buy a junk tv what the sense of buying a high def tv. ur wasting ur money if u buy a tv with a shit picture honestly. if u want a tv for the cool factor of a flat screen then go by a standard def flat screen. you are wasting your money on a off brand high def! sorry to say u get what u pay for. my grandfather bought my aunt a 42inch vizio for her xmas he did not realize how bad it was till he got it. its going back tomorrow for a samsung. 01audis4 was telling me on the phone about this thread while i was driving he could tell u how much of a ranti went on about shit tvs
