Lifan Bikes??

Anyone ever deal with these bikes?

I’m not really looking at buying a bike, but for 1K I wouldn’t mind a nice enduro.

Thoughts?

Hmm. Made in China bikes. Probably will get what you pay for. I def wouldn’t take one over 30mph. Also, good luck finding parts WHEN it breaks…

Found a couple reviews on the web:

buy one and write a review

gosh. they give you the best advice right on the website you posted.

“DON’T WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY ON JUNK!!”

but hell ive spent more than a grand on plenty of other useless toys.

ive seen people riding them before, somebody at my work has one… i believe its a single cylindar 200 cc bike… i got to get up close to it and look it over, it has to be the most poorly made streetbike i’ve ever seen, the shift rod assembly was made out of extremely cheap metals (it looked and felt like it was going to bend with minimal pressure) The fork tubes look like something that you would find on a pocket bike bought from pepboys, and if the motors are anything like the CAG (pocketbike motors) from china, they arent going to last more than a couple hundred miles anyway… and I bet not to many places around here are going to work on them? what type of warranty do they offer? it would suck to have to ship it and keep getting it back and then repeating the process…

MY SOLUTION… i cant speak for enduros, but Suzuki has had the DR series out for ages as has kawasaki had their klx’s… look for a used one of those, something that will last longer, cost less to repair, (plentiful parts not to mention quality parts), plenty of places to service it, and lots of aftermarket support…

and as for a sport bike hell its a 200 cc bike… it does 70 mph (most likely with a 100 lb rider) the NINJA 250 has been out for ~20 years and up until 08 has remained unchanged… you can find a couple year old ninja 250 for 1500 bucks if you take your time and look around… 99civicex got one for cheap and it has been NOTHING BUT A PERFECT bike to him… i highly recommend that route for the same reasons as i said to the enduro, reliable, cheap, quicker, better looking, well known…

that is all

ughh looking through the pics, the chain (which on most bikes is atleast a 520 chain looks to be as big as the chain on my bmx bike… not to mention the adjusters on the swing arm look like shit too)… i bet you’d be stripping out a lot of the poor hardware and for THAT ALONE, would make me shy away from these bikes… i hate working on things that don’t come apart smoothly and get put back together smoothly also

example… http://buffalo.craigslist.org/mcy/529371710.html that would be a much better deal… for obvious reasons

or… http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=138625&highlight=klx for an enduro…

i rock a little lifan 90cc. awsome motor. run it lean,no filter, put it at the bottom of a pond for few hrs here and there. still starts up and tears ass.

also. you want a small bike. buy a Derbi/Aprilla. for quality and pimpness

aprillia FTW.

This looks like you could see them for sale at harbor freight.

UGHHHH, I cant even begin to tell you how many hours of my life ive spent trying to convince people not to buy shit products. You get what you pay for and let the buyer beware!

Heres how the scenario is gonna work.

you buy bike
bike runs good for a month
bike self destructs while you are riding’
you go to hospital
you complain about pos chinese bike

DONT BUY SHIT! IT WONT LAST!!!

BUY IT.

A very good friend of mine has the enduro, and he brought it over the day he got it. I was impressed. His kid has the pit bike, which he loves, and they get rediculous hpg out of their Lifan generator.

BUY IT FROM DON GEORGES - I really don’t say that very often, but they warranty them.

Don’t kid yourself, it is nothing like the Japanese stuff we already have floating around over here, but it is easily worth a 1/4 of the price especially if it is all you can afford. I’m still considering one, and may have an Enduro this spring. Of course, I’ll probably be riding the Boss Hoss again, so I wouldn’t need to, but this will be just as much fun.

BUY IT.

That thing is a beast
