is it internal? could it be the injectors?
Subaru injectors are about as loud as a train. That is what I thought at first, but he seems to think there is a lifter tick problem on that motor. I haven’t heard of it before, but I have never had that problem i guess.?
Considering the impact the seafoam had, I am positive it is the lifters. It halved the sound, and I have yet to change the oil. I will be changing the oil tomorrow evening and will report back the impact that it had.
I had a terribly bad lifter tick in my Audi and I just used a little thicker oil and it seemed to quiet down. You could always try that Lucas stuff too. I have no idea about seafoam!?

my vr6 had a super rough idle, ran some seafoam through it, the car stalled, i let it sit for a while, started it back up, got asked by my landlord to go somewhere else, enjoyed the smoke cloud. that shit rules

yea add some tranny oil and let it run in there for a few days, then change the oil.
and a thicker oil wont necessarily fix the tick if the lifter isnt priming all the way bc its stuck with varnish or whatever.
