i actually had setup a winxp VM and ran virtualbox constantly with a dual display setup in ubuntu. One monitor was host OS, one was guest OS - with virtualbox’s guest addition tools (i think thats what i was called) it would seemlessly integrate the mouse/clip boards. It was a pretty solid setup, however we have a bunch of excess stuff at work so now i just have dedicated machines and use Synergy KM to share my keyboard and mouse.
yeah, I just think in general that it is impossible to find one OS that will do everything…well.
Throughout a full day, I find myself using windows and Linux at work, and switching over to a Mac at home.
Idunno, and even at that, I have 3 different macs for 3 different purposes at home. “It is what it is”, if your beloved iphone is the most important thing for you, then stick to windows.
How often do you really need to sync anyways?
Ya that is my logic. I have been stuck with Windows for a while becuase of Access work I did and some web development programs ran very poorly on Ubuntu or Fedora. Since so many applications run on Windows, I had to stick with it becuase it just worked and what I needed to ran on it.
Now that Wine and there is so much support and lots of apps run great, I just have the two minor things is iPhone since I use my iPod on it for podcasts and contacts backup so much when traveling and then the HDMI issue that I can not get audio over my HDMI.
