Local Pepsi Refresh Project

TO VOTE TEXT 106123 TO 73774 once a day

My girlfriends father is the president for the Albany Police Athletic League (PAL). They are entered in the pepsi refresh project for a grant for $50k in the communities section. They also have an outside party that will match the $50k if they win so this could mean a total of $100k in grants going to a local not for profit organization.

You can either send a text to pepsi with their code or sign up online and vote. Or better yet you can do both. You can send 1 vote per day for the month of May. So if you do it both ways thats 2 votes that you could be helping out with per day.

For those of you that don’t what PAL is here is a statement right of their website.

The Albany Police Athletic League (PAL), Inc. is a juvenile crime prevention program that brings kids and cops together in non-law enforcement settings. PAL accomplishes its goals by providing numerous educational, recreational, and athletic programs to more than 4,000 Albany youth each year. PAL seeks to provide a safe haven for the youth of Albany in their after school hours. PAL kids are offered mentoring and understanding through the help of Albany Police Officers, PAL Staff, Community Volunteers, and Interns. PAL is dedicated to providing kids, especially the most underserved, with the support and skills they will need to journey towards a brighter future. The kids need our help

SO ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS THE FOLLOWING:
Voting for PAL begins on May 1st at 12:00 noon.

To vote on the Pepsi Website: First, you have to register as a “Voter” by clicking on Join! You will be asked to fill out some personal information (first & last name, email address and DOB) so that Pepsi can verify that you are real (singular) human being and not one person using multiple fake identities to vote. (That’s cheating!)

Once you register on www.refresheverything.com you will simply log in every day with your ID and password and navigate to http://www.refresheverything.com/vote4pal and vote once per day, every day.

To vote using a cell/mobile device: The easiest way is to just add Pepsi as a contact (73774) and text them every day with Albany PAL’s ID number (106123) and hit send. Simple.

To vote using the new Power Voting Codes: A Power Vote Code enables you to receive extra votes to vote for an idea on the website (Up to 100 extra votes!) Here’s the deal, a Power Vote Code is a unique ten-character alphanumeric code.

Where can you find them? Drink PEPSI and look for a Power Vote Code on specially-marked 2 liter, 20 oz. bottles and 12-pack and 24-pack cans of PEPSI, DIET PEPSI and PEPSI MAX products printed underneath bottle caps, and printed on the reverse side of specially-marked carton wraps (referred to as “Power Vote Code” in these rules). Not all products and package sizes may participate in all areas.
Oh, and you can get one free one by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope postmarked to Pepsi Refresh Power Votes, P.O. Box 760023, El Paso, TX 88576-0023. FYI: there is a limit of one (1) free Power Vote Code per request per household per postmarked outer envelope.
Once you have your Power Vote Code, you just go to the website http://www.refresheverything.com/vote4pal (when you’re ready), and enter in your code. It’s important to know that once you’ve entered your code, you have to use all of your votes at once otherwise they are gone forever. (One strategy- use them all for Albany PAL!)

You can enter up to 10 Power Voting Codes per period (May 1- May 30).

Last, but not least: You can help PAL get the word out to everyone in our social circles- friends, co-workers, acquaintances, fren-emies, family members, neighbors, strangers- everyone by doing one or all of the following:

Print this flyer and hang it in your office (near the water cooler, coffee pot or bathroom stalls).
Pass around an email that says something like this.
Post our project to your facebook, twitter, linked-in, myspace, blog or website.
With your help, Albany PAL can do more!

does it cost anything more to text then just a normal text does? (yea i’m too lazy to read all that.)

No extra costs at all

so probably in big bold letters type out the instructions like

TEXT THIS TO THIS

first post is now fixed
