720 miles one way for me.
drove the charger from albany to miami by myself, multiple times from albany to daytona in about 15 hours. Drove this summer from albany to Key west, same place vlad has the picture at with my girlfriend. Flew to LA about 3 years ago.
longest solo was to cape breton, nova scotia and back in 2.5 days. ~2200 miles total. Other than that i drove to key west a year ago with my boss. This september me and my brother will see how quick we can make it to colorado.
Let me know if you need me to check out the one in Atlanta, I’m living an hour from there. I’ll snap more pics for you or test drive it :lol
Drove from Albany to myrtle beach with just two stops for gas in a 2010 black crown Vic rental. People sure move out of you way when your haulin as in one of those. We drove a third of the way thru Virginia with the pedal to the floor, 115 mph is all we could muster out of that stock crown Vic. Fun trip had a hell of a time while there. For plane travels, my wife and I flew to the Dominican republic for our honeymoon. A made good friends with many cohiba cigars.
When I was in college I drove from VT to Tampa, FL several times and my best time was 22 hours. That’s when I could handle caffeine, cigarettes and sleep deprivation like a boss. Now I need an afternoon nap after a trip to Walmart.
ridden- Wildwood NJ when I was 14 and 15 with my family
driven- Boston, MA
You need to get out more. Boston’s 2.5hrs away if you’re pussy footing it.
Driving solo: Mooresville, NC a few times.
Sharing drive: Cocoa Beach/Port/Cape Canaveral, FL.
haha Rhode Island farthest drive alone
Cuba farthest by plane
I drove 2600 miles from here to Tucson Arizona 3 times now, 2001, 2002, and 2009. I loved it! The first was driving a 1994 S10 with 200K+ miles, 4 cylinder stick towing a trailer! Second time was driving a 28’ U-haul towing a car on a dolly. The last time was in a 1999 Cavy with my oldest son. Took me 3 days each time because I stopped before dark and got a hotel for the night. Good times for sure!

Did Albany to Harrisonburg, VA to Clearwater, FL to Harrisonburg, to Albany once as the only driver. ±2735 miles - Link
Did Syracuse to Harrisonburg, VA (via Rt. 3 south of DC because we didn’t initially plan to stop in Harrisonburg)…then St. Pete, FL…then Miami, FL…then Palm Beach Gardens, FL (PGA National Palm Beach Resort)…then back to St. Pete via Orlando (due to highway shutdown for accident) and then Syracuse/Albany once as mostly the only driver. ±3309 miles - Link
Did Albany to Sedalia, MO and back once as mostly the only driver - drove 16hrs straight at one point only stopping for food and gas. ±2400 miles - Link
4 years ago I bought my swapped wagon in Cali. I flew into LAX and drove back to NY in 3 days. Through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and the rest of the way back to NY.
The next year on Easter I drove the STi from NY to Seattle and left it with my buddy who built the motor. Took i-90 the whole way.
Same year in Oct. Flew back out and drove her back (all 500WHP). Used i-94 that time to change it up.
Each trip was a quick three day jaunt. It’s a lot easier when you’re heading West and you get an extra hour each day to drive. Heading East you check into a hotel at what you think is 10pm but then you realize it’s 11pm…
I just have no reason to go farther. Not much time either and I cant afford to take several days off from work and pay for a trip to some random place. Someday Id love to drive across the country but thats just not possible right now.
Seems to me like Boston was 3 hours but I was driving a rented Kia minivan loaded up with people and shit and driving fairly easy, not going fast.
Worcester is 2.5 or a little less and Ive gone there the last 4 years.
Fuck man now I can understand why you have such a shitty outlook on life, you’ve never been outside of the shitty northeast. Hell by 26 I’ve driven over 500k miles and been to something like 22-23 states. That doesn’t include cruises and flying to 5 other countries.
At some point in the near future i’d like to drive to cali and back taking a different route each way. Don’t really want to stop anyplace particular, more or less just enjoy the drive and see some new scenery
Fuck, I forgot about driving to PA a few times, over 4 hours one way. Ive been to Ben Salem (not even sure if its on the map) to get the 5 speed swap for my shitty car and then to Cabela’s in Harrisburg, once riding, once driving. Ive also driven to Cabela’s in CT on the U-Conn campus. I think thats around 3 hours away.
Somehow those slipped my mind.
charlotte, nc to andalusia, al and back in a 24’ box truck… i stopped for fuel, to unload the freight i was carrying, and sleep for 3 hours but otherwise drove straight through… my boss was an asshole
im gonna do that sometime in my life. NY to Detroit, then as much of Route 66 as is still driveable, all the way to LA, then to Speed Week in Bonneville.
I drove alone in my current car for 18 hours straight to Nixa, MI from Brooklyn, NY. Then I stayed up drinking until dawn. I wouldn’t recommend doing it.
