Nice Dan!!!
looks liek a pretty mean clutch what kinda is it?
Well it says RPS
RPS lightened flywheel and RPS MAX. I think my left leg will be slightly bigger by the end of summer…lol
All in!
I have been looking for info on peoples opinions, tech articles on proper breakin. I have been reading 500miles of stop and go light driving, nothing hard, no boost, keeping it under 3500rpm.
Anyone know of good info on break in?
You’ve pretty much got the right idea already.
How long did the tranny R&R take you? I’ll be doing mine this summer too (but not because of the clutch).

The pull took about 5hrs the new clutch/flywheel/throw out, rear seal, pilot took about 2hrs, the re-install took probably another good 5-6 hours. I had extra time on top of this to make my 4x4 blocks to get it high enough. I could have went a little higher, it was tight working on a couple things. All in all pretty easy to do. Even those top 2 bolts were not bad. I didn’t swap my slave line yet, the fiitting was so tight I was rounding the nut so I left it for now. I am going to have to order a new hard line because its not coming off without a fight!
I think if i did it again I could do it in about 3-4hours each way.
Just took it for its first ride, feels tight!
I’m curious why you used those blocks under the tires instead of jackstands. I can see jackstands in your picture. Were you not able to get the car high enough with them? If not, that’s odd…
The stands get in the way, using them on the frame rails is right where you need to work, it will add frustration and bruises to your elbows. I also feel much safer under those to compared to stands.
What are you doing while the trannys out?? :poke Turbos??
Haha… nope. Tranny. The tranny’s coming out to do the tranny.
I’ll probably also put a lightened flywheel in during the opportunity as well. My clutch I’m not sure about… its only got about 10,000 km on it and has never slipped and never been glazed so it might be fine still.
Well 900km’s on the new setup and it feels good. I am cranking up some boost this afternoon finally, what a looooong week of sunday driving!!!
I’ll be hitting the strip at Race City tomorrow night. Hopefully I can join the 12’s club finally…
