shawn, i heard about the cutlass you got there right now, i’m gonna come give it a look over, i may be interested in it. I’ve wanted to make a dark sage 442 for a while and from what i’ve heard it may be perfect. What year is it?

yeah they told me you were taking the GN rear from that cutlass. i’ll bring my camcorder and take some film of that and the T and show my dad to give him a better idea. that reminds me, i need the fast ratio sterring box from that SS or a GN to put in the GS, my dad got it out the shop right now and he’s redoing the suspension and steering. i’ll give you a call tmw or during the week.

like everything, do you mean seonsors, wiring, motor, turbo, etc or do you mean the whole drive train. Also i’ll assume you mean 86/87 intercooled engine. This is a guestimate but a complete motor set up, i’d say 1000 to 1500. The whole drive train, about 2200-2500. the rear ends alone will fetch about 700-800, Turbo regals and 84-87 vin 9 motor cutlass (442,hurst) have a 8.5 ring gear where as the monte ss and regular g-bodys have the wimpy 7.5 ring gear that wouldn’t hold up with any real power. The GN th200r4 trannies are also more desirable for their internals over a regular th200r4. if its 84-85 turbo 3.8 i’d say 600 bucks, any other turbo 3.8 isn’t gonna be SFI so i’d say its pretty much junk. From what i hear about the “hot air” turbo 3.8 is that the turbo placement was bad and it cooks the coil pack which is no longer available. the turbo intercooled block is different from that of a standard 231, what that difference is I couldn’t tell ya but i think the “good” blocks have something to do with being a “107” block ??? that number is in my head.
