hey my car is at jdm imports and stefan there met someone from the last tnc meet and he owns a newer maxima or altima i forget and has a fully built 74 road runner. i was wondering if you can do the motor flush for me. Because i hve alot of crap clogged up in my block. does anyone know who this is i needa know asap. thank you
mikey
thats me
what kind of issues are you having?
solids or just hot spotting?
We flushed it twice; the motor he got installed from another shop was full of rust and badly clogged… Mickey wants to use the acid treatment you mentioned to fully clean the motor… most of the chunks are gone; just alot of rust still…
car?
motor?
journal config?
anyone know?
you may be able to correct with a “tube brush”
pain to find but wont kill any gaskets like the acid “can”
do you know where i can get teh tube brush? thank you

these are the GODS of brushes
known as kings since the 60’s
they have a distributor in mississauga.
who sells to a scarb company and many others.
also try felton brushes (hamilton)
you’l want a few diameters and only be a little bigger (1/4") than the journal.
you can get 36" ling wire handles…
just cut off the loop, and run it with a regular drill…not too fast .
they’ll bend a bit to make some curves.
what kind of issues are we talking here?
have you tested for hot spots?
well everytime i flush out the motor the green fluid becomes brown and before there was actualy chunks of rust commin out of it. so i jsut want to get it all out.
thanks ill try lookin for them then ill pm u when i do it
ok im sure it’ll improve with enough flushing…
have you had it flushed w a machine?
ive done it with a pressure washer about four times already and everytime it getts a little bettter. but i dodtn think this brush will work becuase it is all surface rust. i think im going to have to go wiht the acid :S
surface rust will come off with a proper machine…
they run coolant and an abrasive through the system and then divert it through a filter.
they bypass the rad for a portion of the job but it can be included for the whole process
the brush has wire bristles AND nylon…this will work on a drill at 1000 rpm like sandpaper…ever hear of “brushed aluminum finish”?
same basic thing.
otherwise go to canadian tire and get some (hydrochloric?) acid.
liquid 1 gallon plastic jug
Paint dept has it…SUUUUPER strong stuff… it smokes when you poor it onto cement!!!
water the mix down to 25% acid (probably the max i’d mix it)
you’ll need a water pump PDQ if you run this for very long…i suggest a test to see what your in for.
wear gloves…do not breathe the fumes!!!
