if i were going to try and get a cheap project quad, id much rather have a 250x or 300ex than a blaster (is it a bigbore, since u said it was a 250?). blasters motor has potential to be fast, but those hondas last forever. plus the overall chassis/layout fits someone thats normal adult size, unlike blasters, that i felt cramped on when i was like 15 (and im not even big). neither is a bad choice if u find the right deal, but overall the honda handles better is around as fast and more reliable. just dont explode it cause then it would cost more to fix (since its 4stroke)

no problem. thats just my opinion. i have spent alot of time on blasters, 250x/300exs, warriors, lt250S etc tho cause we used to have quads like that to ride at my camp, for pretty much my whole life. blasters are 200cc tho, but they can be made into 250s with a bore kit so check that. but motor aside, i still think they are too small for an average size person over 16. keep in mind too is that honda motor in the 250s/300ex etc is the same basic powerplant that was in the old ATCs and there are alot of those things still running strong, even today after being hammered on by idiots for 20years. bang for the buck is the blaster i guess just due to simplicity of the old-school 2stroke design, but if u come acrss a honda, give it a chance too, thats all im sayin. good luck.
The 250x/300ex is a great quad to have, I’ve had many of them in the garage. I’ve built two full blown national 250x’s before also and they are way funner to ride than a small little blaster. The x’s are a better platform to take if you ask me, my buddy has a 425cc 350x motor that i stuffed in his 250x and it’ll run across the field with a stock 450r no problem.
…stop by if you want to snatch up this 250ex of mine, it’ll be a while until I can set it all back together for some decent pics.
