Looking to Buy a Jet Ski This Summer

I was looking around for some sort of personal craft this summer as soon as my car is finished (Bike, dirt bike, atv, snowmobile, jet ski, ect). I feel I will get the most use out of jet ski but I have no idea what kind I want.

I’m looking to finance somewhere in the $5000-6000 range.

I have a few friends with the supercharged RXP’s and RXT’s and they love them… but im looking for some other input on what is out there in my price range. Serious input appreciated thanks guys…

I absolutely love my 01 RX. But I’m a 2 stroke fan. So that’s not really an option anymore. I also thought of trading it in for a SC 4stroke. To be honest, I didn’t feel like there was a noticeable difference to justify the costs though.

Can’t go wrong with the RXP though.

(I’m finally getting around to a stand-up for this summer too.)

i’m super stoked to get out on my stand up this year

Nahhh, no stand up for me in my first year of riding. They look like a lot of fun but im on my feet enough, to want to go out and put my legs through 324654x more abuse.

Oh yeah, and I hear routine maintenance is a bitch on all the new 4 strokes… someone elaborate.

get a bike instead.

I just re-read this. You are planning on going used, right? New RX models are $10k+.

What are you looking to get out of it? I would never buy a 3 seater. Sure you can legally tube\board\ski behind it… But they are just too big. Just play behind a two seater and watch out for the aqua-cops.

No clue on service on the new models. Mine is too easy.

EDIT_ I miss the old-old XPs. They were so fucking light and small.

Thought about it, I value my life too much, plus im just dandy with one sub 12 second vehicle

and yes… used

I had a 2001 Yamaha GP1200R that was badass. I prefer 2-strokes like that but they burn more gas. The Yamaha GP1300R is a 4-stroke and will keep up with most of the Supercharged Seadoo’s. Theres also the Turbo Honda 4-stroke. The Seadoo’s are nice too but I heard out of the 3 they’re the least reliable. My Yamaha had 98 hours when I got rid of it and never had to do any maintenance to it other than winterizing.

standups are infinitely more fun than sit downs.

sit downs fucking suck.

OT: Buy a waverunner. You ever seen a sad person on a waverunner?

I have to agree to a certain extent. I love my RX and all. And sit downs can be advantageous. But I’ll end up selling it and putting all the cash into a stand up.

Good luck. If the dollar levels out, I recommend Bieda’s Marine just over the border. Check them out, they always have good pre-owned deals.

Any idea about the proses to get it back into the country though? Taxes?

If your interested I know a friend who has a 2005 Sea Doo GTI RFI. Low hours, bought new in 06 as a left over. $4850

I rode and old GTI… it was pretty unstable… like too unstable. How are these?
