not knowing about the better things in life does sound appealing because of all the money you can save… it’s sort of like the matrix… you just picked the other pill fry.
and so are folks who spend a ton on new cabinets and go buy a 6 dollar range hood.
lol :rubicant:
:word: I know nothing about instrumentation, signal transmission, and the like.
Have I mentioned that my title is “Advanced Control Systems Engineer”? :eyebrow:
Sorry dude, but the only reason on God’s green earth for a 5 foot copper cable with plastic connectors to cost $500 dollars is there is a demographic of technically ignorant people with money who care a lot about bragging rights that makes its price point possible.
:zong: Nobody’s buying a $6 dollar range hood. Nobody’s buying a $1300 dollar one either.
lol that was my whole point of this post.
lol :gay3:
someones gonna buy it. And that person is a tard. 0s and 1s dont give a shit at that short of a distance.
it’s about a means to an end. getting a nice stereo image and caring enough to figure out how to do it. finding a way to make a voice roll off realistically and smooth up top. getting noise from two speakers doesn’t take much effort or expense… but if you really care and enjoy then you end up on a quest to find what will work. sometimes it’s cheap, sometimes it’s expensive…
or you can just write off the whole thing as a waste of time and money… that’s the difference I’m talking about.
put into car terms… the first time you drive a car that gets to 60 in 6 seconds it feels fast… then you drive one that does it in 4 and 6 is now slow… but if you take somebody who just needs some milk, spending twice as much for 2 seconds is a foolish venture.
I love my Denon Receiver.
if its copper you got ripped off
AK-DL1
$499.00
Denon’s 1.5 meter (59 in.) ultra premium Denon Link cable was designed for the audio enthusiast. Made from high purity copper wire and high performance connection parts, the AK-DL1 will bring out all the nuances in digital audio reproduction from any of our Denon DVD players with the Denon Link feature. Attention to detail when building this cable was used by empoying high quality insulation, tin-bearing alloy shielding and woven jacketing to reduce vibration and to add durability. Additionally, signal directional markings are provided for optimum signal transfer. Rounded plug levers help prevent breakage.
Thats kinda sad.
signal directional markings?
looks correct to me? what’s wrong about that usage?
Crap. I deleted instead of editing… It was “empoying” not “employing” right after they talked about attention to detail.
ok… now that’s funny. good call.
AG
Nope. Cu with probably Au at the ends.
Made from high purity copper wire and high performance connection parts,
again, I still stand by my statement, if you are paying that for copper you are over paying…
