Lotus 2-Eleven

Never heard of it before today, but it appears to be a new Lotus model coming to the states. Another elise based car, built to race. Stripped down interior, no windsheild, rear mounted toyota engine, supercharged. Body is a simple bolt-on part. 1500lbs with a full tank.

$70k price tag is speculated. Car sounds awesome on paper.

WOW thats pretty badass, glad to see it coming to the states

actually, further researched shows that they have already been delivering them here

Is that the rear view mirror sticking out from the center of the hood? It looks kinda funny that way, but there really is no other place to put it I guess. Pretty damn tight car nonetheless.

Uh… no joke, but I think I saw one of those at the Glen on Monday. I was really confused by it because it was obviously a Lotus, but I thought maybe the owner had chopped/modified it to be like that…

Or maybe the owner HAD, and this is a different model, or something he based it on. Not sure, but it was hot in person.

i love this

Haha maybe he tried to copy it LOL, it is pretty much a topless elise

No, it was a real one. Damn quick …

Okay, dmoffitt just confirmed that this IS what we saw (he was down there with me). It said 2-Eleven down the side, and was primarily that lotus orange with some black and silver highlights if I remember correctly.

Edit: jerk beat me to it.

Nice, lets try and get him up to dunnville next year, that thing would be a blast to watch

Haha, I will also confirm this sighting! MPD pointed it out to me.

i always liked how lotuses looked. this one is no exception.

I bet they sell them here, but I doubt they will be street legal…

wrong, they are

edit: Just did some more digging on that. They are in Britain, but I don’t think they are in the states…yet

I love that none of the body parts are molded to the frame. Makes it easy to thrash it up. I bet it would looks really sweet driving without any body panels at all. ariel atom style

well obviously they are in Britain, you can make just about anything legal there.

I’m just saying they won’t have a chance in hell of meeting the requirements to be street legal here unless they turn it into a kit car.

I love that car, hope it can be street legal in the states

They’ve been selling these for a while now. There were a few at LOG in July when I was there. Pretty amazing in the flesh, but they’ll never be street legal.

Its a cool little car. I like the Elise, its neat. Any interior shots?

There aint much to it…lots of bare aluminum…
