Got ya. I read that as if you were saying that the horror stories shouldn’t carry much weight lol.
Some of you know my e55 is low. I’ve gone to licatas twice and havent had any issues. A 4 wheel alignment, they charge me $91.00. I drop it off in the morning and pick it up before they close.
Licatas did my alignment on the silver Miata…$200 later.
@nitroinsane did my alignment a few weeks later when I realized that Licatas fucked up the specs I gave them.
 to Joe
Could venture to STM for an alignment and corner balancing too
im in Batavia around every other weekend… what would something like this run me?
That im not too sure of to be honest. Best bet would be to call the shop 585-226-8226 I know they’re open from like 12-4 or 5 tomorrow
i was driving around in this for a few years but needing to borrow my cousins superduty every other week got old…which is why im back in a truck lol
Wow, this info totally changes how I feel about you.
I am managing the firestone Harlem and walden. I am willing to help anyone out.
Solid guy to work with. Just did the Cadillac.
I’ve never paid more than what Licatas board says in their shop for an alignment lol. That’s with new toe arms, control arms, everything changed and out of spec. If your car is all fucked up, expect to pay more. Pretty simple.
I only take my evo to STM for alignments. :snky: I don’t know what they charge though.
Nitroinsane is a great guy and will take good care of you as well.
My dad just got a tie rod on his 240z and needs an alignment
Jake did a few for me (m5 and Prius) but I understand he’s no longer doing them
This thread = perfect
can you do camber and toe on a 69 mustang?
Yes
And you can accommodate lowered vehicles? If so you will be getting my business very soon.
I can accommodate most lowered vehicles. I can get most vehicles up. Very low stanced cars will be a problem . I am not going to be removing bumpers or spending more than ten minutes trying to get your vehicle up on our lift…
He does my old junk. They know what they are doing.
This is a serious question. Why doesn’t anyone align their own vehicle anymore? I have done all my alignments myself pretty much since I’ve started driving…the last alignment I paid for need to be realigned after about 50 miles. So I re-did it.
I aligned my Tacoma when I got my new winter tires…When I took it to Basil they “checked” my alignment for me and said it was better than when my previous tires where on it. I said that was because they aligned it before…
I am 100% serious…google “string alignment car” or something to that affect. Profit aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand you’re welcome.
I just pay firestone whatever it is for the lifetime alignment and they do a great job
^ I’m not opposed to having it done by a professional if you are happy with the service. My Dad taught me because he always did it…just stuck with me.
But, if you’re in a pinch, need it done ASAP, and really don’t have a place to take it to you can take this one head on.
Quick search and I found this write up: http://www.negative-camber.org/jam149/technical/alignment.html
It’s pretty good. You need to get a little more involved with the Math if you have staggered offsets. But, the concept is on point. I personally don’t use jack stands as they show but the idea is the same provided your driveway/garage is pretty smooth/level.
