This morning on the way to class, I had a LS1 z28 run me … i found it a peculiar time to want to race, considering it was raining and all… I never even noticed him until outta the corner of my eye i saw a car whip out around the side of me… He pulled out into the passing lane and gunned it… i proceeded to wait for my slow ass auto tranny to kick down, and i waited to give it full throttle til it had shifted, for fear of being sidewards on the road if i didn’t… by the time it shifted he had gotten infront of me so that his rear bumper was at my front… then i punched it down the rest of the way and the LT1’s “pure superiority” proceeded to propell me about 2-3 carlengths ahead by 100 mph (this was from about 30 or 40) … i think he was surprised - to say the least… i let off, he got infront of me, and made the next right, apparently not wanting to stop and chit chat… too bad it wasn’t a dry day - and from a dig :naughty: …
It was sort of a funny looking car… Had a really nice paint job, but had a WS-6 hood on it… z28 w/ ws6 hood = fugly
hard to tell… it was like a taupe color, w/ some black toward the rear… it was very hard to tell, b/c of how dark out it was… only knew it was a z28 b/c it had chrome z28 badges on the front 1/4 pannels… and also, i honestly can’t remember what type of exhaust (dunno why) but it had the same tips as the center-exit exhaust - i just can’t remember if it was center-exit or not. :doh: :doh:
from what i could see, it seemed like a really cool paint job… but the hood not only looked fugly, but stuck out like a sore thumb, b/c it was a different color than the rest of the car.
i will admit tho, it would have to be decently fast for a V6, if that is what it was…
I’ve outran other LS1’s from a dig that were only that fast to 100…
I am totally kidding when i say the LT1 is superior to the LS1 - i think we all know that…
but LS1 cars totally underestimate my car when they see it is a LT1 T/A - not realizing i can outrun them … i don’t get why… the car is very loud (which i know, can mean nothing) and its very obvious sitting at a light, that it has a cam in it…
If i could only afford the Tq. conv. and headers… i’d be set
x2, but I honestly feel the worst part was the hood… it seriously looked riced out… i saw it once last week and wondered why on earth, if you wanted a different hood, you didnt choose an SS hood?
well… honestly if it actually was a v6, i do feel sorta like a dumbass :doh: , but how am i supposed to know the diff? sure as hell can’t hear the thing over my car
and ofcourse, i don’t expect to outrun a LS1 so easily, especially from a roll, where my car shines from a dig… but some ppl can’t drive… often, the cockiest ppl are the ones who can’t drive
ya i mean if u want the ram-air look thats one thing, but the ws6 hood would be aweful on a camaro. they make alot of other ram-air hoods that fit the SS that look good besides the normal SS one…and the ws6-style one isnt one of them :hsugh:
