I was just wondering what people thought about the LT1 engine and the LS1 engine i personally like the Lt1 engine better and i think it is a much faster engine but other people have been telling me that an Ls1 is better which i do not believe at all I was wondering if u think that the LT1 is better or the Ls1 is better let me know what you think

Thanks

n00bie for life!

all u need to know is lt1/ls1>imports

Here we go…

its a boring day @ work ya know… …

LS2 FTW

My friend ran a traction limited 11.6 with his lt1 powered 96 ws6 formula firebird. The car was fully loaded with t-tops and working AC. I have not seen that many ls1 cars that could keep up with him. However, he had major engine work done and if the same work was done to an ls1 it would be just as quick if not faster. Personally I would go with the ls1 because parts for it are eisier to get and you have more options.

Umm very useful information right here.

ehh…carbed SBC 4 Life

if this was in stock form I call MAJOR BS…

My best in stock form was a 13.76 @103 with a 2.0 60’. And that was with 50° air temps.

If we’re talking which is better to mod… for parts availability LS1>Lt1, for all out buildups (I’m talking serious high boost/N2O 4 digit HP numbers) I would have to give the nod just slightly to the LT1 due to the iron block; all the LS1 guys that I’ve heard of that are building crazy HP are all running the 6.0L iron block from the trucks. If you consider the 6.0L an LS1 (I’m leaning on that being cheating because it’s not a native LS1 block like the LT1 one is), then the LS1 is better.

Also, the LS1 design in where everything is going, so even if the LT1 had some advantages, in time when the aftermarket keeps growing for the LS, the LT will not be growing as much or shrinking.

LS7.
But if you want down low torque LT1, little less TQ but strong top end LS1.

so you asked the ? i told you dude but i think the carb sbc is the way to go. later man

ugh

the real comparison is iron > aluminum :tspry:

stock for stock LS1 > LT1

as soon as mods come into play…its just who can pick the better combo and deeper wallet.

LT1= sucktastic “light truck” engine

save the money, buy the LS7 and rock 7 liters of fury

7 liters=uber pwning all

this has to be a troll name

I said it was highly modified. It was a 383 stroker, lt4 heads, 125hp shot, etc. It ran mid 12s without the juice.

me?

383 LT1s should run better than that

Wow thats one very slow 383. A cam only LS1 would beat that

Bolt on LS1 would beat that…
