I brought up wear items saying that i dont want to/have money to replace the items i listed after everytime i go to a road course. Road racing is an expensive sport. And i have no problem with road racing like i said, I just prefer drag racing so shut the fuck up. drag racing is what it is, it’s hard to launch a car and consistantly get the most out of your car because it only takes a little bit to kill your time. I respect that about it. However to say road racing is easy and anyone can do it is just laughable, there’s a shit load more that goes into it.
Neither are easy, and really cant be compared being that they are so different. I just cant stand SOME of the road guys that act like drag racers are inferior and their shit dont stink…

both forms of racing are all about timing. if youre timing for something is off your time will suffer. both take different levels of skill to be competative, none of which you can master over night. this is a dead argument, and like someone said its like comparing apples to oranges.
If your real good at road racing, drag racing can seem easy. Look at Tom for an example. His beetle has a chip, DP, and exhaust (correct me if i’m wrong) and had rediculous reaction time, great 60’ for what the car is and on street tires, and great ETs for the mods he has, low 14’s iirc, maybe high 13’s?
Road racing is not easy in any way. It’s not just “oh weeee i’m going to jump in my car and turn the wheel when there’s a turn.” I’d like to see some of these “drag racers” hop in a road racing car or even their own car and knock off times similar to experienced road racing guys.

Man, reading through this thread is getting me stoked to head up to the valley, I can’t wait.
I bought a Predator handheld tuner and have started tweaking the tune on my goat for the new mods. Once I’ve got it dialed in tight I’m going to bring it up to the valley. My tires aren’t the best but if I can cut at least a 2.0 60ft I should be able to manage decent times.
I’m working towards having the turbo setup on my Camaro ready to run up there by mid/late July.
Nice car should go good man. And I would love to hit a road track and show some of these guys how to drive ;D
