the rims/tires on my car right now are wider then his DR/rim setup…
most cases, that only makes it worse…When I heated up my tires, I was smearing all of first and 2nd gear and was breaking sideways from the 2nd-3rd shift…everytime. Tires were on 22psi too…when I didnt heat them up, I still spun, but not as violently breaking sideways looking at walls.
granted my 60’ was the same heating up the tires, and not.
I’ll be there watching.
Ill be there wit my shit box … still needs some more work but what the hell …
Sweet, seems like a decent turnout.
if this Wed is anything like the last years final Wed…you’ll get 1 run if your lucky…staging lanes were backed up in front of the stands
hmm really? iirc on the last day of last yr i got 6 or 7 runs in? who knows. oh well, i’m spectating so i could give 3 fucks.
September 24th is the final Wednesday I believe.
oh… i thought it was this week
Nah, next week. I’m going this week though while the weather is nice… no telling what the weather will be like next Wednesday.
idk there’s so much proof around here that a.) heating your tires helps, because i clearly had a .2 better 60’ after heating my tires and b.) that your trap speed goes down as your 60’ goes down
Drew grab the smaller dr’s anyways, alot more traction regardless of the tire width, and its alot less rolling resistance too. Heating the tires ALWYAYS helps, dont john force them because the tires will glaze over. A small burnout on street tires is best, mostly to get any rocks/debris off of them which=more traction.
Oh and Joey, 60’ times dont always go down. Its more common than not but i went from a 12.6@112 to a 1.61 60’ running a 11.81@112 :confused It is what is is and the car will do what the car will do, not everyones react the same. There are hardcore people on both side of the arguement, but you cant ignore the fact that anything is possible, soo many different variables…
andrew, you can take my drag tires, they will hook 100% better than yours, and yours are NOT wider, mine are a 315 also.
Yea Ive seen cars go faster on street tires rather then slicks
slick Andrew :umm :lol
you headin up again this year??
Yah…heating drag radials helps. Street tires are a harder compound rubber…you heat them up, they usually harden and become slippery as shit.
really? that would be awesome…are you gonna be going down tho? I thought your’s were 305’s, my bad.
My buddies 305/18’s were bigger than a set of 315/17’s…
