My opinion is based off seeing one up close and personal at blown euros a few years ago. For the money they could have used something other than a Ford Duratec, The car seemed cheap and gaudy. The build quality was on par with a kit car. Newmans BMW was leaps and bounds better looking in terms of attention to detail. The styling is dated, nothing on this car is appealing to me. Look at the pictures of the wheels and interior. It screams pep boys.
Agreed 100%. That car does nothing for me.

While I do certainly appreciate the car for what it is and it’s capabilities, the interior is seriously ricey, and horrific on many levels…as far as fit and finish…ehh…I saw one up close too, at Carlisle, of all places, many years ago…

Get an ariel atom if you want to blow 50k on something impractical

There are street-legal atom’s roaming US streets. They are delivered to the US in parts, so you can technically register it as home-built. It’s probably a major hassle, but you can find used ones already titled that probably make it a whole lot easier.

I’d rock it minus the spoiler and wheels. Interior does look very kit car like. The rear actually reminds me kind of like a saleen s281 with the longer spoiler off of the trunk lid.
For the money though, I’d rather build the factory five car.
I’ve seen a couple of them in person, I always liked them. One of the instructors for the SCDA has one and it seems to work pretty well.
I always did wonder what made them choose that engine. Its a decent engine but there is nothing about it that makes it special or unique. maybe they got them stupid cheap being a high production engine with a good reliability track record. I still think it is a neat car but it is not one I desire myself.
