My friend gave me a MAF sensor which look similar to the Z32 one. He said that it might have came off a R32, but he wasn’t sure. There are five pins coming out from the plug, while the SR20DET uses three pins. Does anyone knows how to connect it to the SR20DET?
it wont run right since it will give different signals compared to an SR.
You say its a 5pin mafs so i have no clue how to make it work, i know the SR’s have a 4pinout plug with only 3 actual pins, you can use the SOHC MAFS or the SR20DET MAFS, both which have 3pins…
try to get your hands on something like that. Good luck!
do you have at least a cut plug that was sapposed to connect to the MAFS? because nissan tends to use the same colours, just match what you have and plug er in.
Z32 MAF should have a “N62” on the part number. I think Maxima and Skyline are N60?
It should run on 3 wires - power, ground, and signal output.
Regardless, you should use some type of Airflow controller like the SAFC to properly modify the signal coming from the MAF, otherwise you risk frying the ECU. Different MAF’s output different voltage ranges, so the car won’t run properly.
