Man seek help after car crash, killed by police without questioning

Target practice and real world shooting are quite a different scenario. Most people in law enforcement are actually required to be a great shot, and have to qualify once or twice a year (depending on departmental policy) with their service weapon on the range in simulated real world drills and then scored on that qualification course of fire.

ok?

and as i said not many cops will be successful trying to shoot someone in the legs while they are running.

:dunno

What I’m trying to say is that you’re right, but you’re only right because it’s not something that would happen. The target law enforcement trains on, starts at the waist. Therefore, no ordinary cop has ever trained to shoot someone in the leg. But what I was trying to explain is that most individuals in law enforcement are an impeccable shot, not by shear skill, but because they’re required to be. And when they aren’t a naturally good shot, they’re groomed to be a good shot, otherwise they don’t pass, and they have no job. So I only outlined this because it seemed that you were being sarcastic in saying some cops can’t shoot with the “they can’t even hit you in the chest let alone your leg” thing. I just took a little offense to it that’s all. So I tried to explain that (there’s always an exception to the rule and a few that fall thru the cracks but) as a whole, cops (in NYS anyways) can damn well shoot. Pit a group of sportsmen and a group of guys in law enforcement against each other, in two target scenario’s: a real world drill and regular target practice, I’d be willing to bet it all on the cops. Just my opinion, having gone thru the training.
