Married Guys - Wedding Bands (question)

IC IC… basically the same thing, made the same, similar properties; just different material… gotcha.

different surface finishes available from one to another and the ceramic is much lighter if that matters to you.

I personally like the black cermic because it looks like a black chrome finish that can’t be scratched. Most metals that have a surface coating, can be scratched easier. Unless the color you want is natural.

I think that the titanium and TC rings are a passing trend - not sure how “cool” they would be in 20 years and I actually like the patina that gold and platinum develops over time. Also they are such cheap and abundant materials - just doesn’t feel “special”.

mines all white gold with a “diamond cut pattern”

i looked at a ton of rings and this was the only one i actually liked. I hate those gold/silver combo rings personally. plus with working in the garage alot, it was the safest choice for me

Mines white gold, it had a brushed finish which is now pretty beat up. Pretty simple, most mens bands are. I didnt want any blinging diamonds or anything fancy, not my style.

Then you like the look of dirt. Gold doesn’t patina. Gold is one of the few metals that doesn’t naturally corode or develope any oxidation layer. (main reason why it’s used in electrical contacts)

My band is made out of Tungsten and my wife’s ring is platinum. I love mine because i can scratch the hell out of it and it doesn’t leave a mark

This is mine in tungsten, its heavy and very durable.

dude… we have the same ring

Nice, where did you get yours from ,Whitehall?

nope, I got mine at Andrew’s (my dad owns the building)

I agree… i really dont like gold at all. Tungsten is not a bad idea since its almost impossible to scratch.

Titanium. Comfort curve. Looks like this, except it has a diamond. Came from Andrews.

i have the same ring in titanium. i’m happy and i get it resurfaced all the time to keep it looking nice

I guess I should’ve used the word “scarring” - not patina (at least not in a chemical sense). I like the micro scarching platinum and gold develop over time.

I have had a couple rings (no wedding bands) such as hematite, a stainless one, white/yellow gold, and one that was all white gold. As you can imagine the hematite one broke from falling off the dresser and the gold ones are not appealing because you need to clean them constantly. But, the stainless one is the only one that has lasted with the abuse I have put them through with little to no marks and still looks really good. I would probably get a Stainless or Cermaic one like Josh mentioned.

3 months huh? Coming up fast  My brother is getting married 12/26.

Yup, 3 Months… And in all honesty it’s going to be “public” at Holiday Valley; anyone who’s there that night at Yodler Lodge will be a witness and can party with us (although Open Bar is only for invited guests!!!)

yeah, I’ve got to go looking at rings sometime in the near furture. It’s probably going to be something with titanium or carbide.

They didn’t have titanium or carbide when I got married WTF!, if they did noone gave me the memo!!! I let my wife pick it out anyways.

It’s white and yellow gold and although I barely wore it for a year, it’s all scratched up/crappy looking…

Now it sits on my dresser, I just can’t wear rings, I have skinny fingers and they drive me crazy. She doesn’t mind though that I don’t wear it, which is super cool of her. Not like I’m going to go picking up another chick anyways, one is enough…
