i think whoever made that lead post was mistaken about the bar and plate.
bar and plate is more expensive than tube and fin. Tube and Fin intercoolers are the cheaper ones.

Interestingly parts made in Taiwan are considered to be of a vastly superior quality to parts made on the mainland…
