my sister has one, you’ll be lucky to have the clutch last more than 15k miles. plenty of documented issues with the clutch, no matter how you drive it. otherwise the car seems fine.

The MZR 2.3 is not the same as the Duratec found in Fords. The heads are altogether different castings, as well as variable is only an MZR thing. Even then, Mazda developed the Duratec.
Nor is the chassis is a Ford chassis.
