Mickey Mouse in '08?

I wont vote for McCain.

I will be voting Dem. for the first time in my voting career. I couldn’t stand another 4 years of the current regime…McCain is not much different than Bush…other that he’s able to complete a sentence. I don’t know why people hate on Obama so much. He’s black. Who cares? He’s not a fucking terrorist like a lot of people seem to have the impression just because he’s Muslim…he has no middle eastern ties what so ever actually. He was born in Hawaii, his mom is white and his dad is from Kenya. KENYA! What could anyone ever freaking have against Kenya? They have bad ass marathon runners, some poverty, and a pretty lame country…but they don’t do anything crazy. He (Obama) is ridiculously smart and unlike a lot of these guys didn’t come from gifted political upbringings. He workes his way up, did great this at Columbia and Harvard Law…and made a name for himself. I respect that. I also like that Obama was a real good collegiate athlete at Columbia. I don’t know why, but that holds water with me.

Aside from lack of experience, why do people dislike Obama? I really hope we are not that racist to go against his name or race?

Given the last 8 years, I just cannot find anything positive to even consider Republicans. They left us in a horrid spot yet people want it to continue? I just don’t get it.

If McCain is elected theres going to be more wars and he certainly wont finish the bullshit in Iraq. Obama wants the military out of that shithole.

For somebody that was a POW McCain sure likes war.

im voting McCain that is all.

The education and decision on this forum is amazing.

“I am voting McCain. That is all”. :lol

obamas stand on gun control is NOT something i want to deal with. they want to LIMIT the amount of guns you can own, limit the number you can buy, etc… im sorry but my right to bear arms and his political stand on guns is NOT for me… thats ONE reason why im against obama.
another would be his complete lack of experience in ANY form of true leadership. it was calculated that for his entire senatorial term hes truly WORKED around a grand total of 120 hours… do you want someone with that little experience running the greatest nation in the world? i think not.

mccain has “been there, done that” so to speak. hes been a senator forever… hes got the age card on his side as well… the general public views elders as the wiser portion of the community. dont try and play the age thing against him as dick cheneys health was fucked long before he was ever elected to VP.

biden as a choice as VP for obama is crippling… biden is so “LEFT WING” that he drastically hurts his chances of being elected as well… while mccains choice of sarah palin is spot on… shes truly worked her way to the top by defeating a long standing incumbant in alaska and has made the right choices on just about everything. so fuckin what if her daughter is pregnant… theres plenty of members here on this forum who have children and are far younger than palin’s daughter… how bout that for an informed post shawn?

Presidents with less elected office experience than Barack Obama:

George Washington: None, natch. But still, he led our country with absolutely NO elected experience or idea of what to expect. His judgement, however, was quite sound.

James Madison: 4 years Virginia State Legislature, 4 years Congress. Removed for other factors.

Andrew Jackson: 2 years Congress, 5 years US Senate.

Zachary Taylor: No elected experience.

Millard Fillmore: 2 years State Assembly, 8 years Congress, 1 year Vice President.

Franklin Pierce: 6 years US Senate.

Abraham Lincoln: 8 years State Legislature, 2 years Congress. A big one, as he led our country through it’s darkest times with hardly ANY experience in office.

Ulysses S. Grant: No elected experience.

Rutherford B. Hayes: 6 years Governor of Ohio.

Chester Arthur: Less than 1 year Vice President.

Benjamin Harrison: 6 years US Senate.

Theodore Roosevelt: 4 years State Assembly, 1 year Governor of NY, 1 year Vice President.

William Howard Taft: No elected experience.

Woodrow Wilson: 4 years Governor of New Jersey.

Herbert Hoover: No elected experience.

Franklin Roosevelt: 3 years State Senator, 4 years Governor of NY. Another big one.

Dwight Eisenhower: No elected experience.

Jimmy Carter: 4 years State Senate, 4 yearsovernor.

Ronald Regan: 8 years Governor of California.

George W. Bush: 6 years Governor of Texas.

And he turned out to be a horrid choice.

At least you have something more than a blanket statement.

no comment on the gun control or on palin’s daughter situation this time though… so my MAIN points were avoided and your first jab at palins daughter were tossed aside… now also look at the list of presidents you posted, they are from the very early days of this countrys founding…in our infancy so to speak… we are over 220 years old as a country now and we have a much greater global identity.

you are also noting ELECTED presence in government. george washington did not even WANT to be elected president… he didnt run… he was APPOINTED after his GENERAL duties in the american revolution won him great praise… so please… lets get deeper into this… would you rather take home more money every week or would you want to pay out of pocket to decrease the national debt… i say fuck the national debt and give me my money to use as i please.

I dont mind some gun control but really Id rather see bullet control. Make it harder to get bullets.

hard to use guns with no bullets…obamas gun control policy is for the fucking birds

I didn’t realize I had to comment? I just find it annoying when people make a statement without any justification. That’s all.

The list was just to point that experience is not necessary relevant to the ability to perform a job.

Will she be good? I dunno. I can’t predict the future but she was picked for a reason which is shitty as all politics are.

Yes, you would say fuck the national debt given you want to vote republican.

i discuss politics to much and I dont want to talk about it on here, not that hard to comprehend

Gun control? You’re basing your vote on “gun control” Travis? Do you even own a gun? I have no idea if you do or don’t…but one issue seems pretty closed minded to base that off. By saying you want McCain in office you’re saying you want to continue waging war in the middle east, continue wasting BILLIONS of our dollars on a war over OIL…not weapons of mass destruction or terrorism. What has spending all of this money done? Driven our fuel prices sky high as the $ per barrel of oil has hit all time highs within the past 6 months. You say McCain has experience, but what do you think of the decisions he’s made in his tenure? Have you even read some of the legislation that he’s passed? Do you know why he chose her as a VP? His PR team knew he needed something to combat the race of Obama, so they went with the gender card…hoping to appeal to women whom may have backed Clinton in the Democratic Primaries to sway to vote McCain. I’m a registered Republican, but I’m not blind. Our contry is in the worst state it’s EVER been in. The past 8 years the unemployment % has risen to over SIX percent. Do you know how high 6% is? It’s a HUGE amount of people. You being one of them off and on over the past year should very much care about the economy and job market which has been hammered into the ground by the Bush administration. I could keep going but I’ll wait for more responses before I go nuts.

Obama wants my mom to have more money (she’s a teacher). :ponder, this could be good.

why should I,ME,PERSONALLY… have to pay for lawmakers poor allocation of funds? because THEY fucked up i have to be taxed MORE to pay for their mistakes? fuck that. cut taxes, let me make what i make and screw the debt. if the government TRULY wanted to fix the national debt they would stop spending frivolously on healthcare for illegal immigrants, and welfare for repeat offenders… thats just assinine. kick the fucking illegals out, dont harbor them, limit welfare allocations, and start to reap the benefits.

ALSO, we should re-institute the death penalty in all states to cut prison housing costs… they cry about overpopulation… simple solution… death penalty for cop killers, serial killers or anyone conviced of murder in the 1st…

No one has brought up the fact that Obama belonged to an anti-semantic church for how long? 20 years? And attended regularly? The preacher of said church denounces the US as a whole, no one sees issue with that? Or are they just happy he just denounced it and said he doesn’t believe what the pastor says… after attending for most of his life.

Some of the above information may be slightly inaccurate but I tried

If you didn’t notice…the Bush administration is WHY we have the huge immigration problem…which again hurts the domestic job market. You say you want your money…isn’t it important to have a job to earn your money? You’re contradicting yourself by saying you support what McCain stands for because he backed the bill to give government aid to immigrants in need of healthcare. Welfare is what it is…it’s not a perfect system but there are people out there who TRULY need assistance and they can’t be punished for those who take advantage of the system. I didn’t love Clinton…but the country was actually in quite a good state while he was running it. I’d like to see CHANGE in this years election. Not 4 more years of the current bullshit regime that has no interest for the american people.
