I like neither of the candidates and have my choices mixed between the two, but holy crap I think this is the smartest thing I’ve heard anyone say/post in quite a long time here.
It’s actually quite inaccurate. He was and is a member of Trinity Church which is an all black church which is very much involved in the african american community. They do not denounce the US in any way.

There’s a quick snippett of why his religious values were actually in the news. You can also visit the church’s website through that link and read about it for yourself. As the church is located in an african american community, and advocates strong african american values…I don’t see a problem?

Making a decision based on gun control is about as retarded as the old people making it based on what their medicare insurance copay would be.
We have some serious issues right now that should be at the forefront of any voter’s mind. To me, this includes the Iraq War, our shitty foreign relations, terrorism, rising consumer goods, staggering oil costs, the environment (GWB did dick for it), taxes, shitty education, rising health care costs, etc…
I also find it funny that Travis mentions the Constitution and Gun Control but not how GWB completely trampled the Constitution.
I may have been misinformed than, all I have heard on it is how this pastor was a huge anti-semantic preacher. Not trying to start a fight just figured I would throw in another perspective on the situation. Its not like I’m all that excited about McCain either
I “heard” that as well but the source was shady.
The problem is the misinformation and bias from the media that makes it different to keep up with reality.
No surprise there, if I was more interested in it I’m sure I could have found the whole truth on my own but at this point I’m your average disillusioned American young person.
No, you are not which is refreshing but I think we are all fed a lot of bullshit to really have an accurate view.
thank you sir.
I just stated who I’ll vote for. I can’t stand getting in heated debates over political topics like this, it aggravates the shit out of me. But I’ll say this, people think that a president can immediately change how our country runs within their 4 year term, but IMO it takes much longer. So I think people should look long term at the effects that some of these politicians want to make “change” in and realize that by “bandaiding” all these problems they are just creating short term solutions that will will bite us all later on.
I also think our country should be self sufficient so we can control our own future and not stake it on some shit ass country on the other side of the world.
two things popped out at me while reading this thread travis.
A. you want less gun control but same regime? do you remember how much it cost filling up the sti?how about the difference when you were filling up the focus? you can have as many guns as you want if it continues, your not going to be able to afford to leave your house tho…
B. Obama says he wants to do all of these things for gun control… but we forget a president cannot simply make or change the rules on his own. still has to pass the other hands of government.
Has anyone ever known a former pow, and known them to be of sound mental stability? I’ve known probably ~20-25 through my life. the longest any of them were held captive was 11 months… McCain was a POW for 6 YEARS. Think about it people. 6 fucking years of torture and abuse, and I’m not talking about the piddly shit feces throwing dog humping antics that go on at Guantanamo Bay, we are talking about the North Vietnamese during Vietnam… serious fucking shit.
I wouldnt say he was a anti semite, id definitely say he has a problem with white people though, which i have a problem with
You guys need to stop watching American news media exclusively. The propaganda is EPIC. :lol
I stopped reading after 5 or 6 posts. :headbang I’m going to save myself the headache and not read any more.
Shawn when are you coming into town? We do beer and argue politics in a futile struggle to change each others’ views? ;D Bring your bibliography.
I think GWB proved you wrong.
Good question. Probably a month or so but it will be a Monday-Thursday afternoon thing.
those are shitty days to get beeeers.
I led church services during my undergraduate studies so I am religious. However, religion and politics are WAY too connected. Everyone should enjoy their faith but pushing on their beliefs is bullshit.
If the fags want to get married, who are you to tell them otherwise?
Alcohol after work = GOOD.
I get BBC America and they have an interesting viewpoint on our whole political mammajamma
Anyone else sick of listening to Obama’s shit during the debate? He talks out of his ass 99% of the time.
“The credit markets are currently frozen”
:wtf No they’re not? :idiots
And WTF does Palin’s daughter being knocked up have to do with anything at all? :wtf Seems like people just bring that up when they want to say something negative about her yet can’t actually think of something.
I guess you missed the “cronies” comment by McCain. I guess you missed the smear campaign by McCain in the news? :lol
Speaking of bullshit, how about deregulator McCain talking about how he wants to regulate the banks? You mean to tell me the free enterprise system and deregulated financial system/trickle down effect didn’t work? Or how about the bullshit during trhe debate tonight (and by Palin during the VP debate) where he pushed for the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac reform measures and “he sounded that warning bell.”
Actually, Hagel was the one that wrote it and McCain jumped on the bandwagon a year later. Also, it didn’t get passed. :lol
