seriously just wack off switching which hand u use, if you lucky u can use both at the same time
Have you thought about putting a twist throttle on your quad? This should help a bunch with not having to use/position your thumb all the time. Definetly try to use your legs to hold on more than your arms. Your hands shouldn’t be tightly gripping the bars constantly. Use jumps, straights and any other time you can to loosen your grip a bit and use your legs instead. Cycling should be a good workout to get your general endurance up. I would assume any kind of exercise that works your forearms for endurance rather than muscle building would help. Also healthy lifestyle/good diet can only help. Try some motocross racing sites. I’m sure they have some good ideas for you.
because of my severe broken wrist I had back in the summer of 05’ even if I did want a twist throttle (which they are deadly on a quad to begin with) I wouldnt be able to twist it. I have this rare type of arthritis from my high impact break that is shifting my hand. I only have 50% movement in it.
Yeah I rode a guys raptor with a twist on it and it was a hand full. I guess if you got used to it maybe it would be helpfull, but the whoops (which a quad NEVER takes as well as a bike) tossed you around so much the throttle got outa hand. and sitting low trying to make a right turn sucked, your at such an angle with your wrist and trying to twist it, it sucked.
I race atv at Royal, and i do pretty well. Honestly the best thing you can do it get used to your machine and get as much track time as possibly. Twister has open track days on tuesday, go to every one you can make it to. The better you get with your machine and the more comfortable you are with the track the less energy you will use getting around the track. Case every jump and get out of rythm and your gonna be dogging it, but hit all the sweets spots and you’ll be much faster and use less energy as well.
Just my 2 cents, from a guy who races atv
I know everything you said lol. I raced quads for 5 years and won 3rd place overall for two years straight in quad Am at royal mountain. Got promoted to expert and broke my wrist and havent raced since.
I am asking about what activities to do, outside of riding. Riding only does so much, and every track is different. I might be able to go 6 all out laps at royal, but only 3 all out laps at hickory hill.
as far as twister, I wont ride there. One of my good race buddys is paralyzed from the waist down from that track.
what class do you race at royal?
