I think it’s inevitable that any store that mainly sells “software” would close down. Hardware can’t be downloaded and/or copied. Also, keep in mind that Best Buy (and other retailers) take a loss on CDs in order to get you in the store.
I haven’t been to Media Play in forever. I would imagine they won’t drop their prices below whatever it would cost them to sell most of it in bulk to a distributor. Once they hit the breaking point between the expense to keep employees paid - and the store heated and lit - and what they can make on selling their assets, they’ll close up and sell the remainder to some warehouse.
i was in the one near the mckinley mall to get the new family guy dvd…they wanted $45.99 regular price then u get 20% off…still over priced after discount…
