Would it be possible to have a list for members’ data; ie 1/8 & 1/4mile, dyno, possibly : autox times at common x place, road coarse times at a common x place?
Tons of other car forums do this, it’s nice to see whats going on in our forum community.
I tried to bring back bigairskier’s thread about at least having a 1/4mile list and didn’t even get a single mod to post anything. WTF I would expect site admin and moderators to at least glance at the site suggestions and member feedback. None of the site moderators are fast but hey some of the forum members are…
They’ve explained why we don’t have it several times.
We did have it before, but only a handful of members used it. Of the few who used it, a good amount simply used fake times. And when the site was upgraded, we lost it.
I don’t see what is the big deal, is it just code as it uses info from members profiles? Most of the moderating would be done by proof or no proof and members would keep an eye on it for the most part.
Other side of the coin is that not many people on here keep their car long enough to actually get any data to put onto said list.

No it’s not. Code is not nearly as easy as you make it out to be.

look around and see how many times I’ve asked people to properly fill out their profiles.
2)Then look around and see how many profiles are properly filled out.
Look around and see how many times I begged people to post their timeslips.
At one point in time we even offered them a place on this site to post them (i.e. free hosting) and had an upload slot IN THE PROFILES. Did anyone use it?
I could put MY times in my sig… but is that a list of what this message board is capable of like I am asking?
Would it be too much to ask for a mod from the motorsports forums to post a 1/4mile times thread and keep the first post updated. This could be made easy for the mod by, havng the forum members post their times in specific way so the mod can just copy and paste.
Maybe even first post a thread to see what the info should consist of. Example…
1/4 Mile ET & MPH 1/8 Mile ET & MPH 60’ Username Car Fuel Nitrous link to slip

I’ve only seen josh and justin messing with coding and it sucked and I guess it’s not worth the forum moderators’ time to make a dedicated section like that… how about just a simple thread then? With post of times only (no bs callout or bickering) and pms to moderators by forum moderators if info is not correct.

prolly all F bodies cause straight lines mean youre compensating for something
ontopic, i think the info is fine where it is, if they dont want to fill it out then they dont ya know, i would but i dont have any numbers
If there’s going to be a thread, people should make a post whenever they better their time and then the thread starter should update the first post with a runing list in order.
They should also post a format that all other posts should use to keep it simple.
That’s all fine and dandy, but we had a format before, and nobody followed it. (for the most part). We had these exact same guidelines back when the board first started and the database was working. NOOOOBody could follow simple directions. Very few posted legitimate times, and almost no one filled out their profiles with any data
Even to this day despite being specifically told not to bench race, people continue to post times with no proof.
Why should we go through any trouble to have a thread full of times with no proof? Why go through the trouble of re-scripting a database when NO ONE PUTS ANY DATA IN THEIR PROFILE? How do you think databases are supposed to work? :bloated:
I’ll tell you what. You want a data thread, earn it.
If you have the following, PM the info DIRECTLY TO RX3.
legitimate timeslip/dynochart - attach to PM or provide link
CLEAR VIDEO PROOF - of 1/4time, 1/8 time, dyno chart; provide link.
CONFIRM that you have filled out your user profile with the same information
If I receive 25 submissions in any combination by December 20, 2007, I will start a data thread in the motorsports section with a post categorizing Top 25 in each category.
You want it that bad? Let’s see you produce. If you’re motivated, and this thing really takes off then maybe we’ll see about getting a real database up and working. Otherwise forget it.
Progress indicator will be updated as qualifying submissions are received. We have 3,421 members. You would think at least HALf that number are actually about their cars. 25 should be easy to do right?
