Drink more hateraid but I called mazda gave them my vin I have a lsd

Viscus LSD.

Could have found that out by throwing it around a turn as well.

I never drove a car with lsd what’s the plus to having one sorry full of dumb questions

That lsd is probably shot already. Look for a torsen upgrade.

I don’t think so was owned by a old guy

Viscous LSDs don’t need to be beat on to go bad, mileage does it. A torsen will be good, period. They’re fairly cheap and nearly indestructible. You’ll want it with the turbo.

That or weld the diff if you’re on a budget.

Torsens aren’t cheap.

vlad own a welder?

Vlad may.

ACHOU !

You can get a torsen in the carrier for 300 if you keep your eyes open. They’re WELL worth that. I love mine. The welded diff will never be as good as an LSD in anything but a straight line. Yeah, it’s cheap… but meh.

Well if I can get one under 500 id do it but I really think the one I have now isn’t beat

Dont weld it for christs sake. I didn’t own my MSM for long but listen to me for a moment please.

Dont drop the car too low cuz you’ll fuck up the geometry Mazda put into it and it’ll handle worse and you’ll be pissed about the bad back you have every time you drive it.

A roll bar will deff help at autox.

Some miata guys disconnect the rear sway bar end links because the car will sometimes act like a torsion beam suspension and try to lift the rear inside wheel in a tight and fast corner. Removing the link allows more travel so less pressure is put on your tires to push back. However I am unfamiliar with this technique so I would suggest you dont do it till you run the car with the same setup at the same course a number of times.

I had a welded diff in my 240. Made it realllll easy to kick the car sideways. I mean real easy. I upgraded to a stock viscous lsd and it made a world of difference. I strongly recommend against welding the diff in a car you plan to autocross. Plus its just annoying at slow speeds when you want to park and it drags the inside tire causin it to chirp and you to look like a fool.

A small turbo setup is all you need for power out of this. Maybe I didn’t catch it what year is this? 90-93 came with the 1.6 and there is a certain maintenance that needs to be done to the crank pulley or you’ll throw your timing. The newer ones came with the 1.8 which is far more supported in the aftermarket. It can be super- or turbo-charged for relatively cheap because the turbo doesn’t need to be big because the car is so damn little.

All good sites that helped teach me. Do some homework about the regular maintenance stuff because I’m not too clear on what it was specifically. Hope this helps.

91.5 is when the long nosed crank was introduced, so after that he doesn’t need to worry about that.

That’s it. Long nosed vs. short nosed. I remember now. What year is this?

mines 1993 long nose shes safe rims are on

They look like my M edition wheels. Nice

God bless you

What are the sought after years/body style of the NA? I like the NB with a hardtop myself.

94 Miata with R package is kind of sought after among autoXers… They made the R in 95 as well. Both have the 1.8, are OBD-I vehicles, still have the NA styling, but have sought after “modifications” factory (although it doesn’t take much coin to get these aftermarket anyways!)

94 and 95 M edition is also there for the old bald men with no real balls to do anything serious anymore.

Which is why I guess I was close to buying one…

See below

The 1994 R package is a Base 1994 Miata with higher rate springs, special shocks, [different sized] anti-sway bars, torsen limited slip, and spoilers on the chin and trunklid. Air conditioning is the only available option.

The 1994 M Edition is a Montego Blue 1994 B Package Miata with polished aluminum wheels.

In 1995 The A,B and C package designations were dropped in favor of prefered equipment packages. Little change was made from the 1994 Model. The R model continues.
