So this sit in between Power 1 and Power Pure; IMO These are way too expensive for street use at around $380/set and for pure track use there are cheaper and more race/track oriented options.
If you have a spare set of wheels, you can run the AMA Spec D211 race tire for around $340/set or D209/D211 race combo for just $290/set.
what do you run on your sv? ive been thinking about tires for my sv track bike and remembered you have an sv… and keep in mind i have a gsxr rear wheel and front wheel as well they are different sizes if that matters, and id like to get with you to do a proper suspension set up for it as well
Way too pricey for my street riding. I’ll be getting the Pilot Power 3’s next time around.
I am using the OEM sv wheels so I am running 120/160’s so choices are rather limited. I like, many others, run Diablo Supercorsa SC DOT’s, but personally I am running SC1 compound front and back.
If you are running GSXR wheels using 120/180’s “track” tires then you have a lot more choices in terms of brand. Pricingwise it is very hard to beat those Dunlop racing specials, BUT you will have to run odd profiles in the rear like 190/55 or 190/60. Otherwise all other brands basically will have either a specific track tire or what they called “trackday” tires like, Power Super Sport, Diablo Dragon Supercorsa SC, BT-003RS in those sizes.
Just a note for trackday tires, in addition to finding a good balance on cost/grip/life, if you don’t run rains, you also need to consider something that is still ok for wets. Just for an example, if I try to run my DSC SC on a wet track, I will 100% crash cause it is really not designed to be run on a wet course. That’s why you see those “trackday” tires usually have a more “street” like sipes but softer compound than street tires.
I will do what I can to help with set-up, just let me know.
:clap
The power 1s and the pures have been discontinued from the market. They are now pilot power 3s and the super sports
