I need a copy of microsoft office. 03, 07, 10 whatever. Ive struck out a few times on demonoid. Anyone wanna sell me a copy?
2nd I need any tips or tricks on updating my white xbox 360. My son went to play a game and now it says update needed. Theres no way around this white screen. It will not update from the game, usb or a burned cd that I put the update on that I dl’d from the xbox site. I dont playline and dont have the wifi adaptor. Any help is greatly appreciated
Its the game. Sometimes it will require an update from Microsoft for firmware versions and what not. If your running an old dashboard, some newer games will not play. Just like trying to play Battlefield 3 on windows 2000.
Interesting… I didn’t know Xbox games were so dependent on the Dashboard unless its some method of keeping people to update their Dashboard and not running exploitable versions.[COLOR=“Silver”]
? I can not get around this “must update screen” as soon as I turn the xbox on, it goes right to the update has stopped screen. even if I hook it up to my ethernet, i cant tell it to update. my sis called microsoft and they said its 99 dollars to update the xbox. anyone have this happen? there has to be another way to update this thing without sending it to microsoft. BTW im buying my boy a new xbox kinect combo for xmas but I would still like a fix for this one
Is the game still in the drive when you turn the xbox on? If so, take it out.
If not, you may need to format the hard drive. This could possibly be a sign of corrupted data (hopefully not from a failed hard drive). If you can get to the system menu, do so and reformat the drive and try the update again.
if you havent fixed it yet and it’s not hacked, I would just run a long ethernet to it or move it near the router for update. Truthfully if you can’t get the usb way to work this is your best and easiest bet.
Do you have Wifi in your house? If you have a newer laptop that has a gigabit network card, take an ethernet cable and plug it into your laptop. If your laptop is older, you just need to find a crossover network cable. Connect your laptop to WiFi and on it, right click the adapter and select “Allow other computers to share this connection”.
Reboot your Xbox and it should use your laptop as its WiFi adapter. this is how I played online when I didn’t have a WiFi card in my old Xbox.
